#toast 580 — strawberry marshmallow toast 🍓 Really cute kissaten located in Shimokitazawa and its lesser known. less “viral” but always crowded with the locals. I came here alone and had a nice quiet time enjoying the toast here. It looks as sweet as it tastes. Follow @nomkakaii for more toast travels!
View on GoogleLong wait time but the curry cream soda was better than I expected. It was kind of lemony and had the slight spice of black pepper! Very creative.
View on GoogleA café, or perhaps a traditional coffee shop, about a 1,2-minute walk from Shimokitazawa's west exit. It's tucked away, but there's a sign so you can find it. This place is popular for its cream sodas. I visited around 18:00 on a holiday. Even though it was already evening, it was full and there was a wait. Reading the board outside, apparently you write your name and phone number on a sticky note and hand it over, and they'll call when it's your turn. A slightly analog waiting-list system, but appreciated. As it turned out, they called after just over 15 minutes. Inside is dim and not particularly spacious, with the atmosphere of a hidden-away coffee shop. A retro feel. There are lots of cream sodas. So many cream sodas. Besides cream sodas, there are floats and food items too. They serve meals, so that explains why it's busy at night. They're open until 21:00 too. The chocolate mint cream soda caught my interest, as if to say, “Pretty unusual, right?” so I ordered it. It's 1100円. It's topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate mint ice cream, and chocolate cream, and the soda underneath has mint syrup too. Like a sweet mojito. The chocolate mint ice cream was delicious. There were lots of young people.
View on GoogleThere are so many kinds of cream soda, it's hard to choose! For the coffee shop set, I chose Napolitan and Sumire. It comes with salad and soup◎ I imagined the flavor would be stronger, but it was just right. I went 5 minutes before opening on a weekend and there was no line. As the reviews say, the cream soda has lots of ice. I like the atmosphere of the place.
View on Google★Muscat cream soda:¥950 ★Kuromitsu kinako float:¥950 Visited around 15:00 on Sunday. If there's a wait, write your name, phone number, and party size on a sticky note and hand it to the staff. I browsed a nearby secondhand clothing shop while waiting for the call! I'd already decided what I wanted to drink, but looking at the menu, there were lots of seasonal offerings, all tempting. The kuromitsu kinako float looked cute with konpeito on top of the cream, and the distinct kuromitsu and kinako flavors were delicious! The muscat was refreshing too! The interior was dim and the seating rather narrow, so it might feel cramped. The menu has plenty of variety, so next time I'd like to try a meal too♡
