Absolutely ridiculous long waiting time. This is not how you do business. Owner should setup appointment time to allow for reservations. We started waiting at 4:10pm and still here at 6:03pm waiting despite free tables inside the store.

The kakigori is big & cheaper than the going rate (〜1300 yen). Overall, it has a distinctly light, refreshing feel. I often order the fruit varieties, but those aren't rich either. So people who like sweet desserts might find them lacking. It feels natural. Honestly, the flavors can be hit or miss? Or rather, they inevitably taste a little weak, and with the size, sometimes I get tired of eating it. Still, it's cheaper than the going rate, so it feels easy to order casually. It's a one-person operation, so it's very crowded in summer. You'll wait at least 1 hour. In winter〜spring, if you visit in the afternoon, depending on timing, you can get in immediately if you're alone.

My treat on a weekday afternoon in the cold season. In the hot season, the kakigori is well known. This comforting place, with a handmade feel like something from a picture book, let me spend a relaxing time. It makes me want to keep it as a secret hideaway. A cafe near Kyodo Station, on a street I often passed, yet somehow never managed to enter. The building had an atmosphere I liked, but at first I walked past without realizing it was a cafe. Then, at some point, I was surprised to see queues forming in the hot season‼️ Afterward, I learned it was famous for kakigori. Even after that, I peeked inside whenever I passed, but my timing never quite matched its opening hours. So my visit happened completely by chance. Looking through the window in the wooden door, I saw just 1 customer. Thinking, "This is my chance!", I dropped my other plans and went inside. The interior feels like an old house overseas. Wooden chairs and tables with an antique feel. Above the counter in front of the kitchen is a handwritten menu on a blackboard. Everything there puts me at ease. What's more, the wooden bench along the wall by the tables at the back has a power outlet! I ordered the cake half & half and light-roast coffee. The cakes were "avocado cheesecake" and "spice chiffon cake". The "spice chiffon cake" had a faint cinnamon aroma, was fluffy, and felt wonderfully gentle. In the "avocado cheesecake", the slightly salty cream cheese and walnuts kept the avocado from tasting grassy; it was rich and truly delicious. The balance between the two was exquisite, and I really recommend the cake half & half. It was perfect for greedy, indecisive me. The moment I sipped the light-roast coffee, a fruity aroma filled my mouth, giving it the feel of a "soothing coffee". Delicious cake, delicious coffee, a power outlet, and quiet, peaceful time. Paying upfront also felt like being told, "Now, enjoy as long as you like", which warmed my heart. On a cold winter weekday afternoon, amano cafe truly was "a cafe like a hideaway". Apparently, lately they open only on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Opening days may change, though, so it seems best to check their website or similar before visiting.

First visit around 14:00 on a Saturday in May of year 25. I'd tried visiting several times before, but gave up because it was closed or there was a queue, so finally made it. Inside are 3 two-person tables and 2 single-person tables, seating about Max 8 people. During my stay, everyone was female; the clientele was overwhelmingly women. Some people were having drinks•cake, but I ordered kakigori. A safe choice, strawberry milk @¥1,000 Payment is upfront; besides cash, they accept PayPay. The customer ahead of me had ordered a drink, so mine arrived after a 10~15 minute wait. They said there would be a wait because it's a one-person operation, and that was accurate. The kakigori is very generous in size. Soft, with an elegant flavor I liked. Perhaps there's syrup inside too, because it didn't lose its flavor right to the end. They also served warm tea while I was eating, which was welcome for my chilled mouth. I feel this is excellent value for 1,000 yen. That probably explains the waiting time. I'm interested in the other kakigori and want to try the drinks•cake too, so I'd definitely like to return, but it depends on the wait. Food★★★★★ Atmosphere★★★☆☆ Service★★★★☆ Price★★★★★

A cafe 5,6 minutes from Kyodo Station. Electronic payments such as PayPay are accepted. In summer, the menu consists only of kakigori and drinks. The kakigori is famous, so there's a high chance of queuing if you go to have it. The peach milk flavor was delicious, the portion satisfying, and the price reasonable. It's a one-person operation, and each kakigori takes about 5 to 10 minutes to prepare, so you should go expecting to queue. Be prepared for at least the number of people waiting×10 minutes, rather than the number of groups.
