A 2-minute walk from Keikyu Kojiya Station, along Ring Road No. 8. I came to Ebisu-an after hearing about a soba shop that local residents visit regularly. Just before lunchtime on a weekday, it was almost full. I took a table near the entrance. From the good-value lunch menu, I ordered the mini rice bowl set (ginger pork) (950円 including tax). A 5-minute wait. The rice bowl was actually a regular full serving. The soba was also a regular full serving. Quite a lot of food! The quality of this place, founded in Taisho 13, is the real deal. Definitely coming back!

June 26 (Friday) Evening, no wait 1 group inside Today's order Cold kitsune soba, large serving, 800円+150円 The soba arrived in a few minutes, but there was so much (・・;) The toppings were kitsune fried tofu (small pieces), reminding me of Kyoto! Cucumber and naruto, the usual staples The smooth soba and restrained, slightly sweet broth that wasn't too strong were very light and suited this season 🍜 Dinner at a historic soba shop founded in Taisho 13! Enjoyed the delicious meal Thank you for the meal 🍜

The noren curtain says it was founded in Showa 2, so this is a long-established soba shop with nearly 100 years of history. I had the unusual “makanai” soba. A regular serving is 680円, a large serving costs 120円 extra, and an extra-large serving costs 240円 extra and has 2 times the noodles. I took the plunge and ordered the extra-large serving, so I'm stuffed. The noodles are thin and firm, but the soba aroma is weak, so this is the type you enjoy for its smoothness going down. The broth is slightly spicy and contains chopped fried tofu and tempura crumbs, giving it quite a junk-food feel, but it was delicious. It really feels like a staff meal. I think the soba menu is inexpensive overall, making this a place to enjoy soba affordably.

Visited at 12:45 on a weekday. Ordered a large serving of the “mazesoba” I'd been curious about for a while. At first glance it looks like cold tanuki soba, but the soba broth has a subtle touch of chili oil and garlic. The tempura crumbs, sesame, chopped fried tofu, white green onion, and nori mix together, and slurping the well-chilled, firm soba is fantastic. The large serving was plenty for me, though I heard other customers ordering extra-large servings too. Then, after 13:00, customers started arriving one after another and the place filled up. A soba shop loved by the locals. It was very delicious. Visited again another day, and the “mazesoba” was as fantastic as ever.

Two of us came in just after 12 on a weekday. There were 4 customers ahead of us and 9 arrived afterward, filling the place. Ordered the “Ebisu-an exclusive” “makanai” for 750円 and “mazesoba” for 850円. The meals arrived in 5 minutes. Both were strongly flavored, generous in portion, and great value.
