Its good but not upto the mark. There is only a single japanese person serving the food.
View on GoogleThe restaurant seems to be run by one man on his own, and since he also does takeaway curry bento and such, he looks pretty busy. That day, even though there were only 2 customers inside including me, he was rushing around with several takeaway orders booked. I timed my order around his busy spells and chose 「極辛スパイシーチキンカレー(1,100円)」, which caught my eye as soon as I looked at the menu. It doesn't look that spicy, but is it really that hot!? When I scooped up the curry and poured it over the rice, I could see big chunks of chicken in it. It certainly tastes spicy, but extremely spicy... maybe just hot? The vegetable umami is strong enough to even taste sweet, making for a very complex flavor. And the spices are incredibly fragrant and delicious. I haven't tried the other curries, so I don't know, but the way they use spices and vegetables is impressive. The sides served with the rice—pickled bell peppers, spice-fried broccoli, and spice-fried corn—are unusual and delicious too. A little thing that made me happy was the condiments like rakkyo and fukujinzuke. Many places only have one or the other, so having both is lovely. I love fukujinzuke so much I eat loads of it even at ココイチ, haha. They seem to have a hot beef curry too, so maybe I'll start coming here regularly. And if possible, maybe I'll ask them to make it spicier...
View on GoogleFirst visit a little after 13 on a weekday, with no other customers. Perhaps they mainly do takeout? I had the extra-hot spicy chicken curry(1100円)inside. It's certainly tasty, but personally I prefer more pronounced spices. The heat was gentle for something called extra-hot, making me think the mild version might have felt a little lacking. ★3.5
View on GoogleThis curry specialty restaurant faces Nakahara Kaido, about 1~2 minutes on foot heading north after leaving the ticket gate at Yukigaya-Otsuka Station and turning right onto Nakahara Kaido. As you approach, the aroma of spices starts drifting toward you, whetting your appetite. The restaurant's name sounds Indian, but apparently comes from the owner's name, Yamakawa. The kofta curry is a mild, sweet curry topped with meatballs. On the lunch menu, you can make it a set with chai or lassi for 210円. The spicy hot beef curry and medium-hot keema curry look delicious too.
View on GoogleWhen it comes to curry, it's ヤーマカーマ. I always come for lunch when I go to Tokyo. The crisp salad, plentiful accompaniments, and nourishing flavors of the spices are soothing. They serve unadulterated meals made with pure spices. The takeout I got for my family was very well received too.
