We had a short layover after our transfer from Narita to Haneda airport. We decide to grab the train from Haneda to Otorii station (3 stops) after checking in our bags. The time it took to walk from the check in counter, train rides to/from, walk to/from Washoku, and getting through security and to our gate took around 90 minutes. After a 10 minute walk from Otori station, we stumbled upon Washoku. It did take a bit longer than I thought it should for our food to come out, but not too long. Restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the robot delivery was pretty cool! We were hesitant at first about what to get, but were relieved to find out you could select English on the digital menu found on the tables. I had sashimi and miso soup, both were delicious. I have never liked tofu, different people have tried several times to switch my opinion of it, and the best any of them were able to do was to get me to admit it was palatable. Well I was shocked to find I actually really liked their tofu...for the first time ever. Do I have to admit I like tofu now just because I liked it one time out of many?
View on GoogleThis was our first Japanese restaurant that we experience. This restaurant was within walking distance of our Airbnb. We were a little skeptical when we walked in as everything was all in Japanese and all of the servers spoke Japanese (no English)!! But I came kind of prepared with Google translate lol. There’s is an iPad like machine in front by the cashier that you’ll need to get into queue. We waited around 10-15 mins for our number to be called (this is all in Japanese, you might have to learn some basic Japanese numbers before coming here because after mins of calling number and you don’t realized your queue gets tossed). The server brought us to our table which is has partitions like a cubicle which is nice and semi private. The server was very nice, patient, friendly and helpful to us mention to order with the handheld device provide at the table, we couldn’t find the English option so we used the Google lens translate to order. We got some TenDon set, Chanko Set and Tempura Udon set. There a water machine on the back counter you can grab your own water and ice. All other drink options you’ll have to pay for. We are and pay without any problems, this was a very interesting experience.
View on GoogleGrab a number ticket as you come in and wait to be called. A little pricier than other places, this family-oriented restaurant offered a wide selection of food (sushi, udon bowls, bento, skewers, fries, mac & cheese, ice cream) and fairly private half-wall booths which easily held 4 Americans. There is a self-serve drink station (though we didn't find out if refills were free/available), and the food is delivered by a robot.
View on GoogleFriendly Washoku style restaurant. In the reception, you need to pick “ticket “ at the first. Tempra, I love it!!! I took my friends to here and got Wagyu shabushabu . They were so excited to have melted beef meat!
