Run by a lovely couple, very cozy place often filled with regulars. Awesome side dishes.

A hidden local gem. The chef and his wife have wonderful personalities. I've been coming for over 7 years, and it's always delicious. Today they indulged my request: I brought in some basashi I'd ordered too much of online, and they made it into nigiri!

The small dishes served before the sushi were delicious too. Lots of people come alone, so it's easy to eat comfortably. For me, the silver-skinned fish were the best.

Fresh sashimi, snacks, and sushi—the food leaves nothing to be desired. It's a shame that, compared with the chef, his wife always looks a little bored….

The worst. The 3 of us went as a family at lunchtime and ordered lunch plus several extra items. My daughter likes squid, so we ordered extra. Fishy❗Not fresh. When we ordered toro tekka maki, they were engrossed in talking with regulars, and it never came no matter how long we waited. When we asked to cancel it, they hurriedly brought it over. Were they annoyed that we'd interrupted their conversation with the regulars? Did they think first-time customers were being cheeky? As we left, they said “thank you” in an intimidatingly loud voice. It was clearly deliberate harassment. Of all the proper-looking sushi restaurants I've visited, this is the worst. I'll never go again. The service is abysmal. If they're going to pick and choose their customers, I think they should stop doing business in Nagahara.
