A place I'd been curious about since moving to Umeyashiki. I never had the chance, but I finally managed to visit at lunchtime. Sorry, this is just my own assumption, but I thought Chinese restaurants were quick to cook. However, at this place, I came in a little after 12 and immediately ordered sweet and sour pork + rice (with soup), and it came out about 20 minutes later... It was lunchtime, and there were 6 people ahead of me. In other words, it took about 3 minutes per person to cook. Whether that's fast or slow is a personal judgment, but I thought it was way too slow. Another strange thing: someone who came in more than 10 minutes after me was served gyoza at the same time as me. Why??? I ordered sweet and sour pork and also a large rice. As in the photo, the sweet and sour pork is just 3 pieces of pork, 3 slices of green pepper, and the rest is onion... No wood ear mushrooms or carrots. Very simple. The taste is simple too. I ordered a large rice, but it didn't feel that large. It's not especially good rice either. Value-wise, at best it's about what you pay for. Well, honestly, I'll never go again. The things that make me want to revisit: "0 (zero)." I guess finding that out was the one thing I gained.

Went on the 20th. It's the day tantanmen dishes and gyoza are half price, and I ordered the chilled green onion tantanmen. The taste is good. However, even though they say tantanmen dishes are half price, I only found out at checkout that the chilled ones aren't. If that's the case, I wish they'd write it on the banner outside, or at least confirm it verbally. I thought it was a sneaky way of doing business.

Stopped by for lunch since I'd heard their tantanmen is delicious. It was the hot season so there were lots of cold noodles too, but after hearing the explanation I went with the classic tantanmen topped with shredded white scallion. Apparently tantanmen originally isn't very spicy, and the classic tantanmen wasn't spicy^ ^ It had a light flavor and was delicious. Besides the classic tantanmen, I hear they also have ones that are a bit spicier and richer✨

⚠️Warning (for first-timers)⚠️ Be careful before casually walking in. You may end up feeling offended at this place. To put it bluntly, the male staff member is the worst. He gives absolutely no hand wipes or anything like that to customers who don't order alcohol. When I first asked if they had hand towels, he said no, and when I pointed out they'd given them to the next table, he said they only give them to people who order alcohol. I've never heard of such a thing. He said it's the shop's rule, but if so, he should have said that from the start, and it makes me angry that he first lied and said there were "none at all." If it's a shop rule, I guess the whole shop, including this guy, is the problem. After that, he was handing hand towels to customers who seemed like regulars even before they ordered, so apparently they're very picky about customers and change how they treat them. In other words, customers who spend little per head aren't welcome lol Lots of other people have said all sorts of things about that staff member too, so it's worth checking those for reference. By the way, I was shocked at how small the 760 yen shrimp chili was, so I'm posting a photo too. Also, since it bugged me, I'll mention this while I'm at it: the zha cai that comes with the set hadn't arrived, and when I said "The zha cai hasn't come yet, could I have it," he corrected me with "Pickles, you mean pickles." That really pissed me off. The menu says zha cai, so you're the one who's wrong. Is this your first time doing customer service? Once again, I don't know about the other staff, but at least when the male staff member is there, you're better off not going in. You'll regret it. I recommend going to the Sukiya in front of the station instead, where you can have cheap, tasty food and a pleasant time.

The male staff member has a bad attitude. He just keeps chatting with regulars and is slow to serve. Even after you come in, he doesn't come to take your order right away, and it's painfully obvious you're not welcome. Not worth going as a new customer
