Highlight of my visit, hands down, in Ota City. The entire museum is in Japanese but even with my limited knowledge, you really got a sense of the long rich history of Tokyo Bay Area. Amazingly well curated, free entry and don’t forget to collect the lovely stamps. The museum is also accessible with a good sized elevator.

I'm touring museums in order, starting with the ones that are easiest to get to. When I came here on a Wednesday about 2 months ago, it was closed without notice (maybe there was one), so I checked every corner of the website to make sure it looked open and visited on this day. Admission is free. Ota Ward was created by merging Omori Ward and Kamata Ward, and out of various possible names like Morikama, it seems they went with the characters that are easier to read. The museum had exhibits like a model of nori making, earthenware, history, great writers, and more. There were quite a lot of areas where photos weren't allowed. Since I live near Ofuna, I found it interesting that there used to be a film village in Kamata that moved to Ofuna (the Ofuna one is gone now too). Also, this museum partners with museums in various countries, including the "Essex Museum," so when I told my friend "Ota Ward partners with Es sex!", they were super happy, and said very proudly, "Ota Ward comes with Es sex.
