We love unagi dinner so we saved this place to visit for our last night's stay in Tokyo. Stayed at a close-by hotel for its convenience to the airport and walked to this restaurant after visiting Anamori Inari Shrine. Went in around 6:30 PM and it was empty except for one other customer. Instead of seating us around a table on a flat tatami matted floor, the hostess sat us at the counter seating with space under for putting our legs in a normal seated position for our comfort (believe me, for us foreigners unaccustomed to seating with legs crossed, this was a very thoughtful and much appreciated gesture). From what we could surmise, she was a one person operation doing everything herself. Could not see into the cooking area but didn't hear anyone else present. Ordered the large full course and it didn't take long to be cooked and served. Can't say it was the best unagi we've had but it was tasty with light flavoring with option to add more sauce to fit your taste. For the price, we were more than satisfied. The restaurant itself is really nothing much, typical small Japanese "mom and pop" place with a homey feel (which we actually prefer over more commercial establishments). From Anamori-Inari Station, it's a pleasant 5 minute walk down on the main shops/restaurants street, Anamori Fureai Street. Everyone visiting Japan should try an unagi dinner at least once (if not, it's akin to visiting Italy without trying a pasta dish) and this place is a nice place to do so.
View on GooglePersonally, I found the atmosphere here to be calm and quiet. I’m the kind of person who likes to enjoy food quietly, especially within this atmosphere with a soothing music playing. The menu has not much options to choose from, but I actually see that as a positive. It’s simple and straightforward, so you don’t have to spend too much time deciding what to order. The pricing feels reasonable as well, with small, medium, and large portions available. This time I chose the medium-sized unagi set meal. Considering both the taste and overall experience, I’d give it a solid above-average rating. It’s definitely the kind of place I’d come back to again when I’m transiting at Haneda Airport.
View on GoogleWe coincidentally walked by this area as we were staying around here and found this Unagi restaurant that’s very local and just opened right at our dinner time 5pm. As we are the first customer to get inside, the staff is really friendly and welcoming, the interior of this restaurant is also very japanese styled as if we were in those anime scenarios. Most importantly, the unagi bento set is superb and exceeded our expectation for our whole japan trip. Can’t tell how good it was.. We definitely will come back next time!
View on GoogleAs soon as I walked in I knew this would be am amazing place to eat and I sm so glad I was right! They have an English menu and are very friendly and patient. This place specializes in eel. I got the grilled eel and egg rice box. added soup and dessert for 200yen, but the rice box was so filling and delicious that is honestly not needed. The eel was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Highly recommend for an authentic Japanese meal. This place was recommended by a local and i sm so glad that I listened. Amazing last meal in Japan!
View on Googleit is really good. genuinely not much more to say than that. devoured this set so fast, almost regretted not ordering the full portion
