Nagaoko is a beautiful restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. As soon as you step in, you're greeted with great hospitality. Upon request, I was promptly given an English menu, which made ordering much easier for non-Japanese speakers. I also received a glass of cold water right away. After choosing my meal, the food was served very quickly. The friendly staff even brought a small instruction guide on how to properly enjoy the soba noodles, which was a nice touch. The cold soba noodles were absolutely delicious, perfect for the weather, and the shrimp tempura was packed with flavor. Once I finished the noodles, the attentive staff brought hot water to dilute the soba sauce, enhancing the experience further. It was a delightful meal overall, and I would definitely love to come back. At the end of my meal, I was politely thanked at the register, and to my surprise, I received three postcards as a lovely gesture. I was thoroughly satisfied and am already looking forward to my next visit!
View on GoogleThis was our last meal in Japan and it was SO worth it! We had hot soba. Every plate looked delicious and the ladies working there were so sweet and helpful!
View on GoogleHad an awesome meal at this hidden soba place. They’ve got unagi that’s not on the menu, and it’s totally worth getting. So good.
View on GoogleOne can never expect to find such quality soba serve in a neighbourhood area until you chance upon Nagaoka. Just behind Nitori, it served very good tenzaru soba and the tenpura prawn was simply amazing when paired with the soba.
View on GoogleAfter 3 weeks in Japan trying many dishes including soba, tempura and salmon roe, I found here a gem! In this place, all three were tasty not too salty, well balanced and complementary. The restaurant seems to be loved by the neighbours too. Some regular were there. The interior is great with a soft relaxing playlist, woodblock prints hanged on the walls, and the rest is modern Japanese style. I really enjoyed my diner and the friendlyness of the staff. Exactly what I needed just before leaving Japan. Oh and the price is very affordable for this area.
