Work up the courage to head down the stairs, and you'll find a homey atmosphere and a space where you can kick back and relax. A hidden izakaya where you can enjoy creative dishes that go great with drinks.

Ookayama has lots of drinking spots, but surprisingly few places where you can get a meal. Manmaruya works for both drinkers and eaters. I love yakisoba, and the yakisoba here with its strong bonito flake flavor is good too

The owner and the proprietress are such lovely people, and the shop feels like a hideaway with a stylish interior. It's just one street off the shopping arcade in front of the station, so access is excellent! The food and drinks are seriously delicious, absolutely worth it‼︎ The vibe is fine even if you drop in alone—it's a place that makes you want to come back again and again!

I've been here several times, and above all, the snacks are well seasoned and delicious. I end up ordering all kinds of them. The owner and the owner's wife are pleasant, and it's a relaxing place.

A shop run by two people: the owner, who looks a little stern but whose cooking skills are delicate and solid, and the cheerful, pleasant proprietress. It's underground so it's a bit hard to walk into, but the inside is clean. They're from Shizuoka, so in season there's Shizuoka oden, and there are Shizuoka-inspired dishes year-round. Everything is delicious, but personally I always end up ordering the green pepper and tuna potato salad. It's a flavor you can't find anywhere else, and it's addictive. The menu has a seasonal feel, and I think it's well thought out. It deserves to be more famous, but I also don't want too many people to know about it… that kind of place.

A place I'd been curious about for ages on my way home from the station. It took a bit of courage to go down underground, but once inside, it was dimly lit with a calming atmosphere. The space is roomy, so you can avoid crowding. The staff were super friendly and it was really comfortable. There are 3 counter seats, and I was very satisfied with the snack platter that's perfect for drinking solo and the delicious sake. Everything was delicious, and there's a daily menu too, so I'm already looking forward to what I'll have next time!
