Very good buckwheat noodles. Lady owner demonstrated how it should be eaten, knowing that we are foreigners. But it’s not our first time eating soba.
View on GoogleThe soba was delicious, and the other dishes were truly delicious too. The firm, chewy soba paired well with the fragrant tsuyu; I wish I'd ordered another serving. Today I had アルシン丼, and it was filling. A place I'd definitely like to visit again.
View on GoogleWhile exploring around my hotel in Kamata for the first time, I found a soba shop with a lovely exterior! The chef and his wife run it together. I ordered tenzaru for 1750 yen. His wife handles the dining room and tempura It was full, but the food arrived in about 20 minutes The sobayu was cloudy white too, just how I like it Looking back at the menu The tempura gozen for 1750 yen seems like better value lol
View on GoogleThere are plenty of seats, and it has the atmosphere of a slightly weathered, long-established restaurant. An elderly man cooks in the kitchen, while an elderly woman handles orders and payments. She had an elegant presence and spoke very polite Japanese. There is no music playing inside, and the quiet space is welcome when you're tired after work, allowing you to relax over your meal and savor the soba. It's clean, hygienic, and nonsmoking, so I think it also provides a comfortable dining environment for people with rhinitis. The “soba set” on the set-meal menu shows a photo of zaru soba as an example, but you can also switch to hot soba. The katsudon in the “katsudon soba set” had a simple, nostalgic flavor, familiar and old-fashioned rather than creative or stylish. The “yakiniku soba set” was seasoned like shogayaki, and the soba was thin and very delicious. The oshinko pickles included with the set meal tasted slightly too salty. It's the kind of place that makes you want to drop by again after work.
View on GoogleBesides the delicious soba, the katsuni is actually outstanding. It's simmered with shiitake mushrooms, and the dashi flavor really comes through. This reliably delicious flavor makes you want to say, “This is exactly what I want.” Do try ordering it with a drink. It doesn't have much fat either, so I can recommend it to older people too. The size of the kakiage don is also surprising. The kakiage don comes with miso soup and old-fashioned salty pickles. Those are lovely too. I think 1000 yen for this is far too cheap. Why not step into the fascinating world of soba shops yourself?
