【Visited May 2024】 On a weekday evening, I made my way to this restaurant I had been curious about. It is near the southern end of 「自由通り」, which runs from Jiyugaoka. Inside, 1F is compact, with 4 counter seats and 1 table for 2. There seems to be a 2F as well, presumably for larger groups. I settled into a corner of the counter. First things first: ・Medium draft beer 480円 for a toast. There are small, medium, and large sizes, but even the medium felt ample. Being Sapporo is another plus. Looking over the menu, the selection was very varied and affordable. That day, I ordered the following in sequence: ・Avocado and tofu salad 680円 ・Kujo scallion and yam hot plate 680円 ・Yakitori - Sasami ume 250円 - Hatsu 150円 - Shiro reba 200円 - Tsukune 180円 - Mune 150円 ・Garlic fried rice 580円 The final bill was almost 30% higher than the total, so I assume there was a charge besides consumption tax. I should have asked for a breakdown. There was not even an appetizer… The tofu in the 「アボカド豆腐サラダ」 was very delicious. With plenty of avocado and sesame dressing on top, it was a satisfying yet healthy salad. The yakitori arrived smaller than I had expected. The value seemed to vary considerably by item. The shiro reba still had an unpleasant smell, and the grilling was nothing special, so I do not particularly recommend the yakitori. The generous Kujo scallions in the 「九条ねぎ 山芋鉄板」 were nice. It was like a yam okonomiyaki eaten by scraping it up with a small spatula. Finally, the 「ガーリックチャーハン」 arrived wrapped in plenty of egg, much like omurice. The gap between its appearance and what I had imagined was quite pleasing. The meltingly soft egg and pronounced garlic made it a fitting dish to finish the meal. I paid happily in cash. At the time, I only thought it was a little more expensive than expected…, but calculating it later, the roughly 30% gap bothered me. A difference of nearly 30% makes quite a difference to the sense of value. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about this restaurant and tried stopping by, but they say “fully booked” not only on weekends but even on weekdays. There are always empty seats whenever I pass, though… And making a reservation just to go alone feels a bit much… Please post seat availability on Twitter or the website!

I am really sorry, but it tastes bad. Like little more than home cooking. I will not go again

The high-ceilinged 2nd floor is perfect for lively drinks with a small group. The food may lean a little toward younger tastes. Since I cannot handle very hot food, the metal plates quickly bring it to just the right temperature, so I have to keep eating quickly!

A tucked-away place with a lovely interior atmosphere. You can sense the care they put into their work.
