The restaurant is located next to the temple. If you sit next to the window side, you can admire the temple while partaking your tempura soba. This place has no foreign tourists, only local. I relied on translation app to understand the menu. Anyway, the food costs me 1400 yen, the soba was chewy and chilling for its favour. The tempura remained crunchy after being soak in the soup. I would love to have more tempura as those are delicious.

This place is a sleeper hit. Accidentally stumbled upon while exploring the temple. Good udon, soba, curry, and unagi. The servers were extremely friendly and accommodating to us as foreigners.

I had the Honmonji soba and mini unagi set I selfishly asked them to add agedama, and the staff were very friendly and accommodated me without making a face The tea they served at the end seemed like herbal tea, so I asked, and it was hojicha‼️ I was surprised It was delicious♪ Thanks for the meal😋

Given the location, with no other eateries around, it's understandable that it's a bit pricey. Even so, the fact that the dishes served look like the photos is a plus, I think. Being able to choose whether ice cream or shiratama is the main part is interesting and practical. The age-mochi (200 yen per skewer) is cheap and filling, an excellent snack ※prices as of 2025. Serving meat and fish, and even alcohol, makes me wonder a bit for a shop operating at a temple, but I suppose it's fine since it's the Nichiren sect, which holds that there are no precepts in the Latter Age of the Dharma.
