It was closed last time, so I finally made my first visit. The owner was kind. Google says it is open until 20:00, but the owner said, “Until 19:00.” Takoyaki (8 pieces+1 extra piece) ¥500 Taiyaki (custard) ¥200 Looking at earlier reviews, it seems the prices have gone up, but the generous portions make it understandable. There was no ready-cooked takoyaki, so I waited more than 10 minutes while they cooked it there, but it was probably the best takoyaki I've ever had. Crispy outside, gooey inside, and each piece is very big. As the photo shows, they are big enough to stick out of the plastic package. I worried I might not finish them, but they were so delicious they disappeared right away. Maybe being freshly cooked helped too. Worth buying even if you have to wait. They don't have petanko-yaki now, but apparently they used to, and I'd like to try it. Hoping it comes back… The taiyaki came with its extra edges intact, which felt like a bonus. The custard cream was good and not too sweet. The shell isn't thin; it's substantial and chewy. I want to go back right away to buy that takoyaki again.
View on GoogleA taiyaki shop along the old Tokaido, east of Heiwajima Station past the elevated expressway. Apparently it has been open for over 10 years. 撫愛荘 is a clever name. They also have takoyaki. There are 2 types of taiyaki: ogura bean paste and custard cream. The taiyaki are made in a multi-fish mold with square edges. The filling tastes ordinary, with a few bean pieces remaining, and is mildly sweet. Apparently it is bought in. The shell is crispy but gets quite hard when cold. You can also smell the oil used during cooking. A friendly, approachable older man works hard until late at night. 2.6
View on GoogleA 6-minute walk from Heiwajima on the Keihin Kyuko Main Line, along Mihara-dori, this is the lantern shop “Miuraya” in summer and the taiyaki shop “撫愛荘” in winter. So you can only eat their taiyaki in winter. This time I bought “takoyaki” for 480円 and “taiyaki” for 180円 lol The menu said “takoyaki” came with 8 pieces, but beneath the waving bonito flakes, there were 9 pieces in the boat-shaped pack lololol The fluffy takoyaki were packed with chunky pieces of octopus, scallions, and tempura scraps, and were delicious lololol The “taiyaki” are made in a square multi-fish mold, with plenty of mildly sweet ogura bean paste inside lol At this price, the ogura paste is chunky bean paste made from domestically grown Tokachi azuki beans, ogura paste—fantastic value lol Yep, super tasty lol So you can only eat them in winter (crying) I'll visit again when the season starts lol
View on GoogleI bought taiyaki and takoyaki I'd been curious about petanko-yaki, but it was no longer on the menu 😢 I reheated the ogura bean paste taiyaki at home and it was sooo delicious 🤤 The bean paste had a light sweetness different from Tokachi azuki beans, with lots of moisture—the type I personally love. With taiyaki from most shops, reheating them at home leaves the bean paste dried out or the batter feeling like pancake mix, but this shop's bean paste was moist and the batter crisp and delicious There are 2 menu items Petanko-yaki 220円 was gone… Takoyaki 480円 Taiyaki (ogura bean paste, custard) 180円 Sorry for the bad photo 🙏
