Tsuchiya @ Ozaku Premium roast katsu set ¥1000, large rice ¥100, bottled beer (large) ¥700 A tonkatsu shop in a back alley near Ozaku Station. Its wonderfully old-school appearance drew me in. Through the noren curtain, an entire wall was filled with manga, and the four-person table had an Ome local magazine and senbei lol The worn interior was just what I'd hoped for too. The tabletop menu was neat and looked recently updated, but curry rice and fried rice were ¥500, set meals like stir-fried garlic chives and liver were ¥800, and even the most expensive premium roast katsu set was ¥1000. The prices looked unchanged since the Showa era. This used to be a butcher's shop, and the sign also says “tonkatsu,” so I ordered the premium roast katsu set with a large rice. The big, thick-cut pork loin was a hefty portion of over 200g❗️ They seem to use vegetable oil for frying, and its distinctive smell was a little noticeable, but the thin coating was crisp and the meat was cooked just right and stayed moist❗️ The large rice I requested came piled high in a bowl, with plenty to fill you up❗️ I struggled toward the end but somehow finished it all... Absolutely stuffed, thanks for the meal♪
View on Google・Opening hours are around 11時30~20時 (They said they changed closing time to around 20時 after COVID) ・Irregular days off ・Parking space for about 3 cars. (But the 3 cars park in a line, so getting in and out is difficult) ・2 tables ・1 tatami seating area ・There's a counter too? But it's not used? It really feels like a hidden neighborhood gem. An older woman was cooking alone. The most expensive menu item is 1.000円 The ginger pork set in the photo is 800円. The portions are very generous and filling. Incidentally, the soup is tonjiru rather than miso soup. With prices so high these days, this level of quality and quantity is practically unheard of. I was satisfied enough to think, if I settled around here, wouldn't coming every week be fine? It's a huge help for lunch and dinner if you live alone and have no money. The interior is old enough to show its history, but above all, the amount of manga inside is staggering. It could practically be a manga set-meal shop rather than a manga café. A proper good old-fashioned set-meal restaurant from the Showa-to-Heisei era. Man, I was missing out by not knowing this place... This is wonderful. The food gets 🌟5 There's nothing particularly flashy or unusual, but if you're too tired to cook in everyday life, aren't in the mood for ramen, and just want an ordinary meal with rice, I can recommend this place.

View on GoogleWe visited as a family of 3. We had the tonkatsu set, tonteki set, and ginger pork set. The tonkatsu and tonteki were thick and tender. The tonteki tasted a little lightly seasoned to me. Saltiness The ginger pork had a strong ginger flavor that made you want more rice.
