Tofu specialty restaurant right next to the Sawai Brewery (access it from the ramp going down to the brewery from the road). It may look light but it was surprisingly filling and flavourful. We also enjoyed the sake tasting flight. There is an English menu available. When we arrived there was a waiting list where we signed our name and number of people. They were able to accomodate our group of 5.

This restaurant is part of the Sawanoi brewery, their specialty is tofu. We went in March and all menu items had とろ湯葉 (toro yuba). The side dishes had soybeans prepared in various ways and flavours. There was a menu in English which was very helpful! The prices were very reasonable and the portion sizes were perfect. We had a sake tasting flight, where they also provided the info sheet in English.

A casual restaurant in the Seiryu Garden of the Sawanoi Brewery. They serve set lunches and have alcohol. Quiet, casual and reasonable. Parking is right off the main road of Ome-kaido. When coming from the east, the first parking lot is accessible for everyone. The next one just down the road a bit is reserved parking for quests of the other (reservations only) restaurant located in the same garden.

We came here with a group of 11 after a kayaking trip at Tama River. We were surprised we could get in with the group (although we had to sit separately 6 and 5), since we did not have a reservation. The sets were very reasonably priced (¥1550 - ¥1650) and included a nice sample of various tofu and local tastes. Great deal for the quality and quantity of food. We got 3 types of sets. Since it is tofu, it's a great option for vegetarians. If you order the set, the items may still come with meat (e.g. depending on which set, it could come with salmon or bacon) so you'll need to let them know that you don't eat meat ("sakana to niku nashi") The fresh soy milk (with or without kuromitsu black sugar) was very rich and delicious if you like soy. It doesn't taste like store bought soy milk. Great experience and great food. The service was really good and atmosphere was peaceful and nice.

wow might be the fanciest lunch i paid for and less than 1500¥! love this place would recommend it to anyone. Fresh tofu of all sorts! my favorite was the apple sauce grilled one.
