What a unique experience! This restaurant serves only one dish, and somehow that makes it even more special. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming. The restaurant is very foreigner-friendly, with everything translated into English. Even though we could communicate in Japanese, they still went out of their way to explain everything in English to make the experience easier for us. I really appreciated their thoughtfulness and hospitality. The meal itself was healthy, balanced, and quite interesting. It included a huge onigiri filled with salmon, ume (Japanese plum), and wakame. Honestly, it might have been the biggest onigiri I’ve ever had in Japan! Alongside it, you get a chicken skewer and can choose between tare sauce or shio (salt). One of the most enjoyable parts is that you grill the chicken yourself before returning to your table to enjoy it. It almost feels like a little workshop experience rather than just a meal. The chicken was slightly firm, but I really enjoyed its flavor. The interior is also lovely and creates a warm atmosphere. Overall, this was a memorable dining experience, and I will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you’re looking for something a little different from the usual dining experience.
View on Googlea nice BBQ chicken place on the bank of the river. They pick the Mitake Sansho (Japanese pepper from the area) just from the river below. You get either wing drumbete or chicken leg and the make it yourself on the big BBQ for a while with your pick of seasoning - rare or shio. The set comes with ahi Tama and a big Musubi rice ball filled with more chicken and herbs. A nice experience overall and the food is delicious.
View on GoogleOne of my favorite food experiences in Japan. They are extremely friendly and provided a good meal. Thank you for the food and conversation!
View on Googleit’s my first time in japan and the owners took it on themselves to explain to me how to properly consume the food, 10/10 experience, would come again
View on GoogleI was lucky and went during the off season on a weekday, so there was no line. It's a bit of a walk from Mitake Station but totally worth it. There are many signs in English, but I think it's better if you speak some Japanese so you understand the explanation on how to grill the chicken. I didn't really get it, but one of the owners kindly helped me. The set is totally worth the price! So delicious, and I was so full after. The kombu soup with yuzu was all-you-can drink and also yummy. I will definitely go again.
