I visited another がってん寿司 branch a long time ago. Back then, the staff were lively, and at lunchtime you could have unlimited servings of very delicious fish trimmings soup. I came to this restaurant because of that memory, but... things had changed quite a lot. The sushi's taste and quality were also a little disappointing. The unlimited miso soup was wakame soup and had become lukewarm, which was disappointing too. I hope they improve.

First, let me start with the conclusion. This restaurant… the sushi is delicious, the staff's service is excellent, and the company's training is thorough, making it a pleasant experience. Actually, I had various inner conflicts before today. Looking at that stubborn-looking figure on the 「がってん寿司」 sign, I imagined “stubborn and taciturn” chefs making sushi with scowls on their faces, and felt a little intimidated. If I said, “寒ブリ, please🙏” I imagined they'd reply, “You can't catch that stuff at this time of year yet!” (This is purely something I imagined in my head)… If I said, “エンガワ, please.” I imagined they'd reply, “Don't order only エンガワ without ordering ヒラメ too!” (This is purely something I imagined in my head). But I had already “promised” we'd go for lunch together, so as a man, I couldn't cancel. It was probably a popular restaurant, so thoughts of unbearable Sunday lunchtime crowds crossed my mind. I tried making a telephone reservation beforehand, but… “We don't take reservations.” Anyway, on the day, I parked the car, steeled myself, and entered the restaurant. “Welcome.” They greeted the two of us, who were nervous, with bright smiles. There are fewer table seats than at other conveyor belt sushi restaurants, so naturally we had to wait at lunchtime, but about 10 minutes was within expectations. Once seated, I glanced sideways at the supposedly stubborn, taciturn sushi chef, and unlike what I'd imagined, he was energetic, smiling, cheerful, and young. That put me at ease, and the extensive, delicious-looking menu on the touchscreen got me excited. There was also a tuna-cutting show, and we had a lovely time.
