I've experienced how great the main store is many times, but I'd never had the chance to visit this Tanashi branch, so this was my first time. Counter only, 8–9 seats. I ordered the salt tsukemen with everything (1200 yen), which the main store didn't have, with thin noodles. The soup with its punchy fish powder is classic Takeya, but something feels lacking. When I lifted the boiled noodles from the bowl with my chopsticks, a whiff of kansui bothered me. Dust was noticeable on the condiments and the counter too, and personally, lots of things bothered me. It's within a 10-minute walk from Tanashi Station, but I don't think I'll be back.
View on GoogleThis is my first visit to the "Tanashi branch".😉 The "Shin-Akitsu branch" was a place I'd been eating at since its old "Yoshito" days, and it was my top pick around Akitsu and Shin-Akitsu stations, but sadly it closed in December 2024.😣🥹 Up to a large portion was free and it tasted great, so I ate there often.🫡 The "large" here is what a normal shop would call mega? or deka-mori? portions: 3.5 servings of noodles for ramen/abura soba and 4 servings for tsukemen, and they give that away free, an amazing deal.😄✨🎊💯☝️🤗 This month, "Kourakuen"'s "Mega Chuka Soba" is 2.5 servings, "Ramen Yamaokaya"'s "Shoyu Ramen" extra-large (2 large-portion tickets) is 3 servings, so a free "large" that's more than other shops' "mega" portions is incredible value.🤩🤗 The prices are probably the same as when the Shin-Akitsu branch closed, so I'm grateful.🙇🙏 I had the large "raamen". Unfortunately, "salt" seems to be gone.😣 Since it's a comeback, I was planning to have the basic soy sauce anyway, so no problem. When the bowl arrived, it looked the same, so I was relieved.😃 The lineup: 2 slices of chashu, menma, seasoned egg, green onion, and nori. The chashu is rolled pork belly chashu, tender and delicious.😄✨👍 There's menma and a seasoned egg too, not paid extras like at some places, and they're just plain tasty.🤫😀 You could choose thin or thick noodles, but I just ate the noodles that were served. The noodles are smooth, chewy, high-hydration noodles, delicious.😄✨👍 As for thickness, they're neither thin nor thick, sort of medium-thick, but there's no medium-thick option, so if anything they're medium-thin, so thin? I wonder~?🙄🤔 The soup is a delicious tonkotsu-seafood soup.😃✨👍 For a flavor change, I added garlic for a boost of umami.😄 Free garlic is much appreciated too.🙇🙏 Next time, including at "Takeya Honten", I plan to have the large "thick-noodle" "tsukemen". Then I'll check the answer on today's noodles.🫡🤔
View on GoogleI had the medium tsukemen. The extra-thick noodles went really well with the punchy soy sauce tonkotsu soup. There were a lot of noodles, but it was a satisfying bowl. Next time I'd like to try the mazesoba.
View on GoogleIt was the best! On a weekday I ordered the abura soba (small, regular noodles, with red pickled ginger), and it was different from any abura soba I've had before, and delicious. First, I ordered regular noodles, and they were fairly thin (medium-thick or thinner? something like that), with a firm, chewy bite. It was nice, unlike other abura soba. You can also get thicker noodles, so if you like thick noodles I think you should go for those. The flavor is a solid soy sauce taste with a gentle, refined dashi aroma (I thought the seasoning was a little on the sweet side?). I've had Bubuka and others too, but this was a slightly different style of flavor (personally, I liked this one better than Bubuka). The shop is a bit cramped, but the atmosphere inside was really nice, so I'm giving it a high rating! (The staff were nice too!)
View on GoogleI had the tsukemen. It seems you can choose thin or thick noodles, and I went with thin. Tastes vary from person to person, but to me the noodles felt dry and crumbly and didn't taste that good. I got the regular size, 2.5 servings, but left a little… I don't think there's any problem with the staff's attitude or the shop's atmosphere. It's purely a matter of taste. The person next to me was eating abura soba, and it looked delicious.
