Visited for lunch. Ordered 2 draft beers, gyoza, omurice, and hot-and-sour noodle soup. Having walked 12〜13 minutes from the station in scorching heat, it tasted incredibly good! The gyoza arrived. Normally tasty. My partner's hot-and-sour noodles arrived. Too hot to eat straight away. Apparently there were too many noodles to finish, they were clumped together and hard to separate, and there wasn't much sourness or heat. The omurice arrived. Well, reasonably tasty. The accompanying soup wasn't good. The bill was incorrectly calculated at 4,900円, then recalculated to 3,700円… Considering the location and taste, the value may be on the poor side… Won't return!
View on GoogleSuperb suratanmen at a long-established neighborhood Chinese restaurant loved in 田無!! Visited 「谿明飯店(けいめいはんてん)」 in 田無. Its old-fashioned neighborhood Chinese restaurant appearance and interior atmosphere feel comforting. This time I ordered one of its signature dishes, suratanmen. The soup has an exquisite balance of vinegar's sourness and chili oil's heat—a flavor I love. It's mild and not overpowering, so I think even those who aren't very fond of vinegar…… could enjoy it to the end without getting bored. The piping-hot thickened broth clings well to the noodles, with a flavor that makes you want to drink every last drop. Looking at the menu, there are a surprising number of dishes, from set meals to individual plates! A lovely, lively restaurant that makes me want to promise a return visit to try the recommended 「生碼麺(サンマーメン)」 next time.
View on GoogleFirst visit because 生碼麺 is apparently their specialty. My companion had 生碼麺 and half a fried rice, while I chose the karaage set, the only set meal that was far more expensive than the rest. Aside from the sauce on top, the karaage didn't seem particularly unusual, but there was a lot… maybe that's why it costs more? I don't know how substantial the other sets are, so it's hard to say… The 生碼麺 was scorching hot, and I burned my mouth when I let my guard down. (The set's miso soup was also scorching hot for some reason) Of everything I ate this time, I thought the fried rice was best. There was so much karaage that I gave up on gyoza this time, but with parking for 3 cars in front, it's easy to visit, so I'd like to return and try it. Thanks for the meal.
View on GoogleAbout a 15-minute walk from 田無駅 on 西武新宿線, and about a 5-minute walk from 西東京中央総合病院. A restaurant with a quintessential neighborhood Chinese atmosphere. Entered around 11:50 on a weekday. There are tables at the front and tatami seating at the back, but the tables were full. I was directed to the back tatami area. That area was also about half full. Ordered the daily lunch. That day's meal was ・Paiko noodles ・Small rice ・Pickles ・2 jellies (bonus) That was it. It wasn't bad—reliably tasty.
View on Google2025/11/22 Located in a residential neighborhood about 10 minutes on foot from 田無駅 on 西武新宿線. Visited just after noon on Saturday. It was full, so I waited outside. Went inside after a few minutes. Although alone, I sat at a low table in the raised seating area. I verbally ordered from the staff: 生碼麺(サンマー麺)850+half fried rice 350=1,200円. The meal arrived in just under about 10 minutes. The thickened noodle soup, packed with bean sprouts, cabbage, garlic chives, carrot, naruto, and pork, was piping hot. The vegetables and noodles were coated in the thickened broth. The flavor was light and delicious. The half fried rice also had a light flavor, with red pickled ginger adding an accent. The carefully stir-fried rice had nicely separated grains. Please try the fried rice. It's delicious. Paid in cash, thanks for the meal!
