I like how the chicken is cooked. The portion is plenty plentiful.

A curry shop in front of a Seibu Shinjuku Line station. Introducing the Curry & Demi Aigake for 950 yen at Curry to Demi Kasaneya. As the name says, it's a shop where you can enjoy curry and demi. I ordered the aigake, which lets you have both. Topping: fried egg for 120 yen. I ordered the curry at spice level 2 for +50 yen. On an aluminum plate, rice in the center with a soft fried egg on top. The sides are shredded cabbage and daikon pickles. The curry and demi each come in their own curry pot. Using the rice in the center as a dividing line, I poured on the curry and demi and dug in. The curry is spicy. Level 2 is pretty hot. It was a chicken curry with big chunks of chicken. The demi has a fresh tomato flavor and lots of diced onions. Since you eat them side by side, you can really appreciate how different they are. The dressing on the shredded cabbage is tasty too, and the daikon pickles make a nice palate cleanser. The level 2 curry was hotter than I expected, so I mixed it with the egg yolk to make it milder. For a flavor change, sprinkling on the fried garlic from the table adds a toasty richness. Adding their original spice, Kasaneya Masala, makes it even hotter and spicier. My conclusion after comparing the curry and demi: in the end, I prefer the curry. A conclusion I reached precisely because I compared them. ♯TanashiGourmet ♯TanashiLunch ♯TanashiCurry ♯Aigake ♯CurryToDemiKasaneya

A curry shop I'd been curious about for a while. Went in for the first time. Apparently the interior was recently renovated, so it's very clean and neat. It was really comfortable. I was also curious about the demi the owner has supposedly been perfecting through trial and error for years, so I ordered the "Curry & Demi Aigake (950 yen)". As you'd expect after all that trial and error, the very refined, rich demi was delicious 😃🇮🇹🎶 For the curry, just to be safe, I asked for the non-spicy level. It's the thin, runny type with the spices coming through, and it's also a flavor I like. Very delicious 😃🇮🇹🎶 The staff were all friendly, especially the female staff member, whose explanations were clear and perfectly delivered, really pleasant service! By the way, the karaage was amazing, so next time with beer❗️

It was more authentic and delicious than I expected, which surprised me. I ordered the aigake with no options. The curry was runny, almost like soup curry, and it looked pretty spicy but surprisingly wasn't spicy at all. It didn't have the smell typical of ethnic? style curries either, so it seems like an easy place to go even on a work lunch break. The demi was tomato-based, like hayashi rice roux. It had big chunks of tomato and tasted rich and quite authentic. A properly delicious hayashi rice at a restaurant is really rare, and I liked the demi better. It seems they also have a demi omelette, so next time I'll try that. Thank you for the meal.

Super delicious! Malatang curry! The spice level was extra hot. For Taiwanese tastes, it's really rare to be able to eat food in Japan that's actually spicy, and the heat doesn't overpower the flavor of the curry and other ingredients. Delicious!
