Visited before 18:00 in mid-R8.4. About 8 tenths of the seats were occupied. Ordered 8 dishes: shark fin soup, chili shrimp, braised pork belly, fried rice, crab omelet, stir-fried vegetables, stir-fried squid, and black sesame tantanmen. Everything was delicious, but number 1 was the black sesame tantanmen! The crab omelet was delicious too! Thank you for the meal.

Located along Shin-Ome Kaido, a little east of Tanashi Tower. I'd passed it countless times, but this was my first visit. They advertise their 50th anniversary with thanks to their customers. For an independent restaurant, a business that's generally hard to profit from, simply keeping going for so long is impressive. Parking for about 10 cars. It was early Saturday afternoon, and I got the last 1 space. Lucky. Inside, it wasn't as crowded as the parking lot suggested. I guess most customers come by car. There seem to be 10 tables and over 40 seats. I was shown to a table for 4 at the back. There were no sets or set meals, so after studying the menu I ordered tanmen for 968円, tantanmen for 990円 with a large noodle portion for an extra 220円, 5 gyoza for 693円, and white rice for 220円. Everything except the gyoza arrived in no time. The tantanmen had a pronounced peanut butter flavor and was a little salty. Adding vinegar made the saltiness disappear and brought out more umami. The minced meat was in one clump, so I scooped it up before it sank into the broth. The noodles were thin and high in hydration. The tanmen used the same noodles with a light salt flavor. The gyoza were meaty and went well with rice. As expected of a long-established restaurant, everything delivered. It was a cold day, but I started sweating as I ate. Someone nearby was eating black sesame tantanmen and commenting on the numbing sensation. It probably has plenty of sansho, which really interests me. PayPay is accepted.

I went in thinking it was a neighborhood Chinese diner…🥟✨ More authentic Chinese food than I expected😳🔥 The place was bustling with families👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨ 🍳 Gomoku fried rice (large) 🥟 Gyoza 🌶 Authentic flavor!! Black sesame tantanmen (coriander topping) 🥬 Stir-fried liver and garlic chives 🍜 Ankake yakisoba We shared everything🤝✨ Though the place looks like an authentic Chinese restaurant, I finished my meal thinking the flavors were surprisingly a bit unrefined😋 It's nice coming with a big group so you can try all sorts of things♪ 🍡 Still curious about those sesame balls🤔

2026.1.4(Sun)11:30 A Sichuan-style neighborhood Chinese restaurant that's been here since Showa 49. The parking lot, which holds around 10 cars, was full. Just then, 1 car left, so we got in. But inside it wasn't even half full—perhaps there are seats in the back? There are tables seating 1 to 4 people. In addition to the book-style menu, there are items posted on the wall. I ordered the popular tantanmen for 990円. You often see chili oil floating on tantanmen broth, but at first glance there wasn't any. Looking closely, very fine droplets of chili oil were beautifully mixed throughout. The staff said it contained chili peppers too, so it was fairly spicy. It didn't have much sesame richness and was a lighter, thinner style of tantanmen. You can choose the number of gyoza and spring rolls. Payment is by cash or PayPay.

This was my 4th visit. Whenever I'm in the mood for Chinese food, I always come here. This time I had black sesame tantanmen, boiled gyoza, and yodare chicken, while my companion had tanmen. I've had the black sesame tantanmen many times, and it's truly delicious. There's plenty of flavor beneath the heat, and I enjoyed it to the last bite. Personally, compared with the gentle tantanmen at chain restaurants, the punchy heat and flavor of 山城's tantanmen make me feel, 「Now I've really had tantanmen.」 The boiled gyoza and yodare chicken are also just right as a change of pace, and their distinctive flavors make me order them every time. The yodare chicken sauce is delicious too, with heat and umami intertwined. It's especially delicious in cold weather, so I'd like to go again.
