A spectacular view! A spectacular view! What a beautiful view! I was so crazy, crazy impressed! The sunset is the most beautiful. I am in awe of Mother Nature. We took a rented bike to the entrance of the observatory. It takes less than 5 minutes from the entrance to the observatory.

Best view from Shikine to Niijima, the other islands around, and over Shikine itself. You can see 5 of the 7 major Izu islands. A must see spot on Shikine, easy to reach even on foot.

Highly underrated location. You can enjoy truly dynamic view from here, and don’t forget, you’re still in Tokyo. It is part observation deck, part cliff walking path. You don’t need any high end hiking boots, but flip-flops are not recommended. Also it’s a bit of walk from the parking lot, so make sure you have enough energy for it.
