Great izakaya with a very nice atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and accommodating to foreigners as well! I know not many foreigners go to Hikawadai but it was very much appreciated. The food is amazing and they have a great selection of Sake!

A stylish izakaya loved by locals that I've visited several times. It's about a 3-minute walk from the station toward 平和台. There are glass-enclosed seats visible from the road, and the atmosphere is nice. The staff are always welcoming, making it a comfortable place. Weekends are always lively, so booking is wise. I've visited several times and order whatever I feel like that day, but absolutely everything is delicious! The sashimi is beautifully presented, and the fish is fresh and tasty! The black bean mascarpone is like dessert and perfect as a palate break! The dashimaki tamago is fluffy and full of dashi! I don't know whether it's seasonal or how often, but small menu changes seem frequent! Popular dishes seem to stay available! Thanks to that, I enjoy the food without getting bored, however often I come! They have many rare sake such as 而今, which is great for regional sake lovers! Tasting selections are available too, so trying different ones might be fun! When you ask for the bill, they serve complimentary arajiru, and receiving バブ on the way out is another nice touch! The interior is nonsmoking, but there's a smoking area outside through the door beside the restroom, so smokers can relax too!

A delicious izakaya with an extensive fish menu. From the counter, you can actually watch the fish being charcoal-grilled, which is impressive. Better value than drinking in 池袋, which is nice.

Full marks First, they source excellent fish! All the fish was delicious. The charcoal-grilled sardines were fantastic. The sardines themselves were top quality, and the grilling was delicious too, making them outstanding. The service was very pleasant, and I had a wonderful time. The seasoning was excellent too, enough to make me regret living in 氷川台 for 1 and a half years without visiting. I'll invite acquaintances and visit again

Starting with the otoshi, then “晴れ晴れラーメン,” made with real dedication beginning with the broth, which surprised me There were also ・Negitoro and avocado tartare ・Dashimaki tamago with plenty of ikura and many other dishes whose appearance alone said “delicious.” A treasure trove without a single disappointing choice✨ And at the end, you receive warm miso soup. Even this final cup conveys the restaurant's wonderful spirit of hospitality♡
