A takoyaki shop on Doshida Street that's rarely open and has extremely irregular closing days. It's next to セブン-イレブン on a tiny plot, but it's a standalone roadside shop. It even has its own dedicated parking, rather than shared parking. With it open so rarely, the parking costs alone must be quite something. Maybe the landowner here runs this takoyaki shop as a hobby. I'd wanted to try it for ages and finally got some Kanto-style takoyaki, 8 pieces for 500円. It wasn't anything special, but there was quite a bit of octopus in it, and it was tasty. Payment is cash only. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleUnpretentious, old-fashioned takoyaki and imagawayaki. I like it! That street-stall taste.
View on GoogleApparently, because they're getting older, they're now only open (Friday)(Saturday)(Sunday). I'm the type who asks for mayonnaise on my takoyaki. Sometimes a piece is missing its octopus, but the octopus chunks are large. I love the cream imagawayaki so much that when I can buy several at once, I freeze them for later. Even if there's aonori in the batter, it's not enough to change the flavor, and I enjoy it as this place's own distinctive touch.
View on GoogleThe imagawayaki and takoyaki made while smoking inside the shop seem to have a good reputation, huh. I had the cream imagawayaki, and it was so awful I wanted to throw it away. There was something like green leaves in the batter, and it was salty. Are they making it carelessly and getting aonori in it or something? The saltiness of the batter and sweetness of the cream felt like a discordant clash doing a Cossack dance. The owner's attitude is the worst too. I'd like them to get down on their knees and apologize to every imagawayaki in the country. I've never eaten imagawayaki this bad in my life. An elementary school kid could probably make it better.
View on GoogleSome random people who aren't regulars are writing all sorts of things, but there are very few takoyaki shops around Tokyo and this area that put in octopus this big, this substantial, and this generously. The gooey center is still going strong too. It's a rare shop that impresses a takoyaki lover like me, who can't get any satisfaction at all from chain takoyaki places. My parents have been buying it for me since I was a kid, and the other day I bought some again for the first time in over a decade. The old guy has aged, but he was still cheerfully cooking away, and that alone made me happy. By the way, the nori in the obanyaki is there to distinguish the anko filling from the custard. If you can't stand even that, I'd recommend a chain takoyaki shop with even more rigorous quality control (lol).
