It is a lovely cosy art museum, based on the works of the famous Japanese Children book illustrator. What was particularly impressive in one of the exhibitions was the theme of peace, and the world of children affected by war (like the illustrator herself) - all by just reflecting on feelings and emotions, in a beautiful and touching way.

A small picture book artist's art museum located in a quiet residential area. U can feel the author's life of loving children who can express the difference between an 8 month old and a 1 year old baby. The modest atelier from that time remains and is well worth a visit. U can also drink tea while reading a picture book, so U can spend a relaxing time in a small museum.

I hear about the museum but I wanted to check it out. The ambient is super calm and quiet, help me to disconnect and enjoy the different exhibitions and learn about Chihiro Iwasaki, her life and her dream. The exibhition about WWII is shocking knowing that she survived the war and interesting how this molded her life. No photos allowed in the exibhitions, of course, but you can take photos in the gardens. Definetly a place I recommend to visit if you are in town.
