You may have passed Washiya in Nakano Broadway, tempted by its bento sets. Here, just around the corner, you can enjoy them as a sit-down meal! (You can also have a beer.) The lunch sets were very economical, fast, and most importantly, tasty. You can pay with IC card, or other payment methods apart from cash. The environment is bright and clean, the high turnover and lack of loitering guests mean that the layout can afford to be spacious.

View on GoogleA set-meal restaurant that also sells prepared side dishes nearby, where the ordinary is wonderful. From the recommendations, I chose 「豚肉の生姜焼と海老フライ定食」 for 1,100円. Piping-hot fried shrimp and 2 tender slices of ginger pork coated in sauce. Cabbage, potato salad, plenty of tartar sauce, and a small side dish. The miso soup is packed with ingredients and has a tonjiru-like flavor. Commercial pink pickles—everything is ordinary, which is actually reassuring. Young and old, men and women, take their seats as soon as the restaurant opens. Besides cash, various credit cards and QR payments are accepted.

The ginger pork was well seasoned and kept me reaching for more rice—a classic set-meal style. Its home-style, slightly nostalgic flavor has the reassuring feel of a neighborhood diner. Adding chilled tofu made it refreshing and well balanced, turning it into a very satisfying lunch. An easy-to-drop-into set-meal restaurant right near 中野 Station. With plenty of menu options, it looks handy for everyday lunches.
View on GoogleI visited 「わしや ごはん処」 in 中野北口一番街 for lunch. It was my first visit, but the interior had a calm, welcoming atmosphere, and I really liked being able to relax even on my own. This time I added chilled tofu to the ginger pork set meal. The ginger pork was well seasoned and delicious enough to keep me eating rice, and the meat was tender, so I was very satisfied. Having the chilled tofu alongside it provided a refreshing balance, and I enjoyed the meal to the end without getting bored. The slightly nostalgic, home-style taste and the comforting time I spent there also left an impression. The staff were kind, the place was comfortable, and the menu had plenty of choices—a lovely restaurant I'd like to keep visiting regularly.
