They only accept cash, saying it's because they buy their supplies in cash. After being treated like that, I couldn't leave in a very good mood. In an age when even conveyor-belt sushi places take credit cards, I felt it was a shame they didn't put customers first.
View on GoogleThey serve delicious sushi at reasonable prices. Chatting with the proprietress and the chef was fun too.
View on GoogleI've lived near this shop for 10 years, but it always felt hard to walk into, so I kept hesitating. I'd selfishly assumed it would be all regulars and I'd feel out of place. But when I actually went, the chef and the proprietress were such gentle people, and just as everyone else has written, the sushi is superb. The small dishes too, of course. I had the regular sushi, but they adapt to each customer's needs at the moment, like taking orders for smaller rice portions or cutting sushi in half for customers who find it hard to eat. The chef also told me, "Please don't hesitate to ask." I honestly just regret not going sooner. I'll be a regular from now on. Closed on Mondays. A really good sushi shop.
View on GoogleSapporo draft beer, and bottled is KIRIN Classic Lager. There are sometimes local regulars at the counter, and the raised tatami area has 2 tables, with picture books and such. I hear they also do takeout and delivery, and they're open over the New Year holidays too, though with shorter hours. Chatting about fish with the master is another thing to look forward to here.
View on GoogleOrdered the premium nigiri. The rice was on the firm side and came apart nicely in my mouth, just how I like it. All the toppings were delicious, and the sea urchin didn't taste of alum either, so good! 2,600 yen for this is cheap.. I'd been curious about this place for a long time but it somehow felt hard to walk into. Once I went in, the chef and his wife were both lovely people, and I regretted not trying it sooner. I'll come again.
