A very good Sichuan restaurant, a bit far away from Nakano station. Cheap and delicious.
View on GoogleA calm place with the feel of a neighborhood Chinese restaurant The individual dishes certainly aren't cheap, but they also have yakisoba and other everyday dishes, so you can dine comfortably Apparently 陳健一 has visited, and you can enjoy delicious Sichuan food I had the yakisoba and soupless tantanmen, and both were very delicious The yakisoba combined the punch of the sauce with the gentle flavor of chopped kamaboko, and I enjoyed the aroma of aonori too The soupless tantanmen surprisingly had quite a bit of liquid and was a little different from 広島's version, but the sesame came through nicely and it was delicious The Sichuan boiled dumplings with sesame sauce were also tasty and not spicy Next time I want to order the Sichuan mapo tofu!
View on GoogleVisited after hearing the yakisoba was their specialty. I asked a customer coming out, and they said the yakisoba was... not great... So, since the restaurant has Sichuan in its name, I chose tantanmen instead. And that was the right call! The miso-forward tantanmen was just my taste! The soup clinging to the noodles was moderately spicy and rich. It was delicious poured over rice too~!
View on GoogleCriticism. Visited for lunch. With a photo on display showing someone with an arm around 陳建一, I had high hopes for the Chen mapo tofu, but sadly its taste makes me question using that name. Both the numbing sensation and heat are weak. More precisely, a small amount of mala sauce is stir-fried in plenty of oil, creating a gap between the faint aroma and oily taste. The tofu is soft, there's no scallion... I don't think this warrants 1500円 (tax included). The bland tantanmen and the chashu fried rice, distinguished by being served in a bamboo steamer, are also hard to justify at 1100円 (tax included) each. On top of that, the somewhat dim interior, the staff member's (owner's?) cold attitude, and the lack of social distancing measures seem to create a negative spiral.
View on GoogleThe yakisoba, said to preserve the flavor from its founding in Showa 27, was soggy with grease and not tasty at all. I have absolutely no idea why it costs 700円. There's a limit to overpricing. I don't recommend this restaurant.
