A popular place run by a married couple. Everything is delicious. Nibbling on fried peanuts now and then, drinking white wine, and finishing with Shaoxing wine — being able to eat all this with the 4000 yen chef's-choice course is a great deal! The rib roast was delicious. Overall the flavors are gentle, so there's none of that heavy Chinese food feel, which is nice. The sesame balls had a texture beyond anything I imagined, I want to eat them again.

A lovely exterior with crimson walls giving off an exotic vibe. It seems to have a lot of regulars. Everyone was eating yakisoba and boiled gyoza. It was my first visit so I don't know if this is right, but the spare ribs were very cold. A cold dish??? (couldn't ask…) I arrived at my reservation time, but waited outside for over 30 minutes. It was the second seating and the place is small, so I guess it can't be helped, but there were customers who looked like they'd finished eating. Maybe they were regulars so it was hard to say anything. My companion dropped their oshibori, and it wasn't replaced. My companion said they didn't mind, but we had just sat down, so personally I was disappointed. If I ever go again, I'll book the first seating.

Saishoku Shokudo in Nakano, colorful Chinese food, ⭐️4 I'd say This is a place I'd long wanted to visit at least once. It's only open at night and it's off my work route, so I could only go on an evening during GW. 5 minutes from Nakano Station's south exit. On the uphill alley called RENGA ZAKA, a side street by the station terminal sparkling with dazzling neon, numerous small eateries stand. Huh~, I didn't know there was a corner like Shinjuku Golden Gai near Nakano Station😮. You'd probably get lost without Google navigation🤔. The entrance is exactly the orange of a seasoned, authentic Chinese restaurant❗️Inside was nearly 🈵 full, but one seat was open✌️. First I was asked about drinks; since I'm a non-drinker just like Mr. G, I went with oolong tea for 400 yen. The black vinegar spare ribs were sold out, so I ordered yellow chive with shrimp and egg stir-fry 1300 yen, liver and chive stir-fry 950 yen, stir-fried greens (lettuce today) 900 yen, and green onion wontons 400 yen. After waiting 15 minutes, they were served as in the photos🤗. Whoa❗️The visuals — the green of the lettuce, red of the 🍅, yellow of the egg, pale pink of the plump little shrimp, deep green of the chives, dark brown of the liver — whet the appetite. In the stir-fried greens, the crunch of the 🥬 goes well with the stir-fried 🍅. Little shrimp peeking out of the egg stir-fry is great too😋. The liver and chive sauce is quite sweet, but the green onion wontons are spicy, so they cancel out the sweetness. Aside from the sweetness of the sauce, it's 👍. The seasoning is a bit different from Japanese-style Chinese restaurants, which might be good for enjoying authentic flavors🧐. Thank you for the meal again today🙏.

The best neighborhood Chinese restaurant!! Just like the reviews said, the stir-fried spare ribs in black vinegar sauce were superb. The rich black vinegar matched the flavor of the spare rib meat really well. The green vegetable boiled dumplings are also a must-order. They're big dumplings with a light flavor. The other dishes look appealing too, so I want to go again. When I went around 7 PM on a weekday, I got in right away, but it filled up after that. There are only about 4 tables, so there may be times you can't get in.

This time I ordered the dishes Goro-san chose, as featured on TV. First, the spare ribs! Ordering this first was seriously the right call! Rich sauce with tender, delicious meat that makes the drinks go down easy! Next, the tomato and egg stir-fry — the tomato melted by the heat pairs perfectly with the egg! I actually said "so good!" out loud😊 lol And then boiled dumplings and liver with chives! The boiled dumplings hide a hearty amount of meat inside, with tons of juices coming out, irresistible!! But the liver and chives surprised me too! The sweet sauce was even better than its reputation! ≪Recommended Menu≫ "Stir-fried spare ribs in black vinegar sauce" ¥1,200 "Tomato and egg stir-fry" ¥1,200 "Liver and chive stir-fry" ¥950 ≪Budget≫¥4,000〜¥5,000
