A hidden gem for bento in 新中野. Once you discover this place, you'll stop buying bento at nearby supermarkets. The shop is in an inconspicuous spot a little way in from 十貫坂上. Despite the times we're living in, the bento are incredibly cheap. Even the miso soup starts at a surprising 50円. Cheap, but the food tastes very good and the rice portions are generous. The sides feel a little sparse, but it's still very satisfying.

I live nearby, but somehow never got around to visiting. This was my first time. I went in planning to buy the inexpensive, limited-time W crab cream croquette bento, but ended up reaching for the chicken tatsuta-age bento on display and changed my plans. I also bought a chinjao rosu bento and 2 spring rolls. Anything not already available is made after you order, so it was warm and crispy. I microwaved the paint tatsuta-age bento at home, but it does seem tastier freshly made. Next time, even if what I want is already there, I think I'll order something freshly made. The staff were also brisk and pleasant, so I'll definitely be back.

Most of the staff were wearing masks, but they were chatting noisily. There was 1 man with his mask on his chin, making bento while talking with the other staff. Given the current situation, and in general, talking without a mask while preparing food felt unhygienic. I won't be going back.
