I got to eat at Rakutaro, famous in Ikebukuro, in Nakano too. As always, the ingredients are fresh and delicious.
View on GoogleThis is the Nakano branch of "Rakutaro," a popular Genghis Khan specialty restaurant that opened in 2019 and now has its main store and second store in Ikebukuro, plus branches in Shimbashi, Monzen-Nakacho, and Nerima. It's a 3-minute walk from the JR Nakano Station South Exit. When you pass in front of the restaurant, the lovely aroma of Genghis Khan drifts out, to the point you can't help but stop. By the way, there's one of Tokyo's top famous Genghis Khan restaurants nearby, so I bet a lot of people were surprised, thinking "opening in Nakano, what a challenger!" I made a reservation for 6 PM on a Friday and visited for the first time with colleagues. The interior has a really Showa-retro atmosphere. We were shown to a table on the right side of the 1st floor. The 1st floor has a few counter seats and five 4-person tables. Apparently there are semi-private rooms on the 2nd floor. There were solo diners and female customers, and a wide range of ages. What we ordered: ○ Genghis Khan all-you-can-eat-and-drink 120 min ¥4,980 excl. tax which includes 5 kinds of lamb—shoulder loin, rump, shoulder, heart, and liver—plus sausage, bean sprouts & vegetables, and rice, all-you-can-eat. The all-you-can-drink also has a great lineup: draft beer, highballs, various sours, wine, Hoppy, makgeolli, and more. The meat here isn't frozen; it's shipped directly from Hokkaido and served fresh, so there's no gamey smell. It's tender, to the point you could eat it raw. Personally, I liked the loin best. Compared to the meat quality of the famous Genghis Khan restaurant nearby, it doesn't fall short at all. And price-wise this place is about 1,500 yen cheaper, so I couldn't help but be amazed. We ate lamb like crazy. The drinks went down at a fast pace too, and we thoroughly enjoyed a fun time. Thank you for the meal❗️
View on GoogleThe meat wasn't too gamey, but not lacking flavor either! I got to enjoy delicious Genghis Khan! Of all the Genghis Khan I've had in Tokyo, it was tasty and satisfying😄 The staff member was running the place alone, which looked tough, but I'd like to go again!
View on Google[A hidden gem for Genghis Khan] Yukidaruma was fully booked, and while I was looking for somewhere else, I found a Genghis Khan place nearby running a free draft beer campaign! A cozy little interior. The great smell of Genghis Khan shoots right through your nose. The otoshi was a 1-person Genghis Khan set (shoulder loin + vegetables). The free beer arrived. The shoulder loin has little gaminess and is tender, really tasty! I ordered gyu toro rice, lamb shoulder, and a Hoppy set. The lamb shoulder is tougher and gamier than the shoulder loin, but the aroma of the fat is strong too, and with salt it's simply exquisite. All this came to just 2000-something yen. Reasonable! In the restaurant, everyone was enjoying the 4000 yen all-you-can-eat-and-drink! A very fair price!
View on GoogleThe all-you-can-eat-and-drink I'd been waiting for on a Friday night. I can't eat all that much, but the tempting system of "whatever you like, as much as you like" makes my heart dance. First, various cuts are served, all delicious with no gaminess, and I gobbled them right up. The sauce is a sure bet, but the rock salt also went really well and was delicious. The meat crammed all over the big table was a feast for the eyes, and I ended up full. Thank you for the meal.
