I discovered this place through Fumi Yoshinaga’s manga, and a friend also recommended the squid ink risotto, so I finally made my long-awaited visit! Everything was fantastic, from the signature warm “seafood salad” to the rich squid ink pasta, pescatore, and sautéed beef fillet. The ingredients’ natural flavors really shone through, and I was thoroughly satisfied. I’d love to return when dining in Nakano.
View on GoogleThis place appeared in chapter 1 of Fumi Yoshinaga’s manga Ai ga Nakutemo Kutte Ikemasu., so I visited during a trip to Tokyo. I ordered various things, but three dishes were movingly delicious: the seafood salad, with a basil marinade-like sauce unlike anything I’d tried before; the crab pasta in tomato cream with plenty of crabmeat; and the intensely creamy karatana. I really hope you try them. Seafood seemed to be their strong point. Old-fashioned Italian food. The person serving was probably the current chef’s mother. We chatted a lot, which was fun too. I wish I’d also tried the squid ink risotto recommended in the manga.
View on GoogleSince returning after 20 years, I’ve been visiting fairly often. The flavors haven’t changed since back then, and everything is truly delicious. They’re classics, but you really should try the liver pâté, seafood salad, and chocolate tiramisu. The squid ink risotto I’d wanted to try was so much blacker than any other restaurant’s that it surprised me. It tastes gentler than it looks, but the umami is incredible. For dessert we had catalana and espresso pudding (recommended by the wife). Their completely different textures were fun. It’s a small restaurant run by a married couple, so food takes time to arrive. If you want to be sure of getting in, I think booking early is essential. (If your timing is off and the seats are full, they quite often have to turn people away.)
View on GoogleIt had been a while since my last visit. Still as delicious as ever, and I’m satisfied! I tend to order the same things, so this time I added a meat dish I don’t usually order. The Milanese-style beef fillet cutlet was well-seasoned, crispy, and very delicious. (Once you order it, you can hear meat being pounded in the kitchen.) They also have plenty of dolce, and they’re all delicious! I always have the tiramisu in particular, because its deliciousness is unique to this place. The chocolate cake is so dense that I wonder if the sponge is gâteau au chocolat. There’s crisp chocolate inside too—absolutely delicious! +This time we ordered lemon tart and cream ricotta. Both were delicious! The cream ricotta in particular was fluffier than expected, with a lovely, distinct fresh cream flavor. (I’ll skip the seafood salad, shrimp cream pasta, and squid ink risotto, since there are plenty of reviews. All are very delicious.) All this plus drinks for just over 6000円 per person is inexpensive. I’ll be back♪ Update On holidays, you’re very likely to need a reservation to get in.
View on GoogleEverything was so delicious I kept being blown away. The incredible umami of the basil sauce on the seafood salad, the delicious liver pâté, squid ink risotto, pasta, dolce—everything was superb. I was also surprised by how reasonable the bill was. I had such fun chatting lots with the mother! I definitely want to go again(^^)
