A corner away from Rengazaka alley, there is this tiny discreet cafe that many local regulars come by every day for the shopkeeper’s aromatic coffee on their each favourite seat. His coffee-making and soft attitude are good, however, non-regulars like me might feel a bit awkward with its aged interior and atmosphere until focusing well on his/her cup. As well, for the people who are not tolerant to smokers, this closed space can be pretty stuffy. However, I guess the shop, after all, would be best to stay as it is now.
View on GoogleA hidden 🚬smokers cafe with good choice of music and aromatic hot coffee. Wouldn't recommend to visit here with more than 3 people since the place is small. It's a cozy place for solo smoker, I think but avoid if you're claustrophobic.⚠️ The narrow counter have only a few stools and tiny coffee tables with limited number of seatings. Like the other reviewers say the dark lighting, the aftersmell of cigarettes and the elderly gentleman in the counter; those elements are what one would relate to old black and white detective films or thriller and suspense novels.
View on GoogleAmazing coffee place with good coffee and cool ambiance. Price was very affordable. The storeowner does not speak much English but he was very kind. Note that this is a smoking cafe so take this into consideration if you cannot stand the smell of cigarette smoke.
View on GoogleA place where you can smoke regular cigarettes, which is rare these days. If you can't handle the smell of tobacco, you'd better skip it. THE seedy mid-Showa-era coffee shop. If you call it unsanitary, well, it is, but people who like this kind of cluttered vibe will get hooked. Seems like they're a fan of Shuji Terayama (^^) They grind the beans after you order. I ordered the Blend Strong. Nice bitterness and acidity. All this for 500 yen! Cheap, right?
View on GoogleI came after looking it up online beforehand. A coffee shop in Nakano where you can relax. The iced coffee was delicious, and so was the blend. It seems they have a food menu too. The coffee was good, so I bought some beans too. They said they can grind them for you before handing them over. The downside? It's not very clean. It is an old-fashioned coffee shop, but even so, you couldn't call it clean even out of politeness. The customers are almost all smokers, so it's smoky inside. If you don't like cigarettes, you'd better skip it.
