It's nearby, so I tried going in for the first time. I ordered the stir-fried garlic shoots and pork set meal; the restaurant was quiet. Water, soup, and pickles are self-service. Both the food and soup were well seasoned and delicious. Generous portions and affordable prices make it good value. Next time, I'd like to try the meat and vegetable stir-fry or noodles.
View on GoogleOn my first visit, I thought from the name that it might be a Japanese-style neighborhood Chinese place? But when I went in, it turned out to be a mainland Chinese restaurant. Until now, I'd only had fried chicken dishes, but they had a mysterious depth of flavor that made me think this was a tasty place. This time, I felt I should try something else. Shanghai yakisoba set meal: a set meal? Yes, there's a free set-meal accompaniment section on a table at the edge of the restaurant, so you eat that while waiting. That day, besides rice and soup, there were simmered hijiki and tofu in thick sauce. The yakisoba arrived much faster than expected too. Lately, I've been hooked on this kind of yakisoba without the usual sauce flavor, and I make it myself, so I hoped to pick up some tips. Delicious... mild... but I can't figure out why, lol. All of this for ¥750. Alongside the good taste, the low price stands out even more these days. I think I'll keep working through this restaurant's menu one item at a time.
View on GoogleI think it's run by a family from their home country (the parents and their son?), and when I went in, the 3 of them kept arguing in the kitchen. The atmosphere was fantastic.
View on GoogleI ordered kakuni fried rice. The menu photo showed a large piece of kakuni on top, but the actual fried rice didn't have a large piece, which was disappointing. It tasted good. At lunch, soup refills are unlimited, and large servings of noodles and rice are free.
View on GoogleClose to work, with sufficiently tasty food and generous portions Soup, 2-3 side dishes, and dessert included for under a thousand yen An appealing restaurant.
