Visited on 2026.5.22. 1025 days remaining. Because of the rain, Hanako Cafe, deep inside the zoo, was closed. Only this place, Komorebi, just past the entrance, was open. You can buy the elephant bento here or at Hanako Cafe. The adjoining gift shop has original Inokashira Park Zoo products as well as items that look imported. They were cute, so I bought a Tsushima leopard cat handkerchief towel and an owl keychain, which I believe is said to be a symbol of good luck. This keychain series also has ornament versions, and although they're the same size as the keychains, the ornaments cost more. This zoo also has a guinea pig interaction area, so perhaps the gift shop favors guinea pigs too? Even on a rainy day, the sheet roof over the terrace seating kept the rain off, so we could eat there. The elephant bento may just be a different animal version of Ueno Zoo's bamboo-sheath bento. The shaping is well done. The rice is lightly seasoned, so I'm doubtful whether children would eat it eagerly. And I don't know whether children today would eat the simmered shiitake forming the elephant's ears, but it was delicious. The other fillings were tamagoyaki and meatballs. My family's business was a butcher shop, and I grew up when wagyu was the norm for meat, so I'd never eaten the イ〇イ meatballs that used to be popular, and the meatballs in this bento were a new experience for me. Come to think of it, a long time ago I wondered whether the student hamburg from あ〇くま, which the person I like said they often ate as a student, might taste something like this too. From now on, I want them to eat better meat…
View on GoogleKomorebi is a light-meal kiosk inside Inokashira Park Zoo (admission is 400円). There's no indoor eat-in area, so you eat at the tables outside. The elephant bento is popular. It's wrapped rather than boxed, so it might be a little difficult to eat unless you open it on a table or tray. It's piping hot, and when you open the wrapping, a cute elephant appears, making you blurt out “So cute!”☺ The elephant is made of yukari rice, surrounded by chicken rice, with shiitake ears; hamburg steak, an omelet, and edamame add color✨ The butter chicken curry was delicious too.
View on GoogleAtmosphere A kiosk inside Inokashira Park Zoo. Seating is mainly outdoors, with an open atmosphere surrounded by greenery. It's particularly pleasant on sunny days, and being able to visit with children without worrying is a nice feature. It was just the right place for a short break while exploring the zoo. What we had We ordered vegetable curry and Napolitan. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from kiosk food, but both were surprisingly delicious, better than I'd imagined. The curry is medium spicy, so it's more suited to adults, while the Napolitan had a somewhat nostalgic flavor and was a hit with our child too. With a drink set, you get 100円 off the drink. Visit time, party size, and crowding We visited at lunchtime on a weekend as a party of 3 (2 adults+1 child). The seats were almost full, but there were spaces a little farther away and in areas without tables, so we found seating more easily than expected. The kiosk itself was busy, but turnover was quick and the wait fairly short. It seemed easy to use even during busy hours.
View on GoogleIt was so hot that I ordered vanilla soft gelato. It's only served in a cup, but comes with a crunchy sablé. It's the real thing, made with vanilla beans. It was delicious.
View on GoogleI visited 「こもれび」 inside Inokashira Park Zoo. I had the vanilla soft gelato, which was rich, full of milky flavor, and very delicious. It was a cool treat perfect for a hot summer day, ideal for a break while strolling through the park. The shop also had plenty of souvenirs, including animal-themed goods and limited-edition items, making even browsing enjoyable. It's a lovely spot to take a relaxing breather in nature, so I hope you'll stop by when visiting the park.
