A stylist coffee roaster in Kichijoji. Every time when you walk pass it they are very busy roasting beans. You can literally smell it from metres away. They have pound cakes on the menu other than coffee. Their coffee is of very high quality. The temperature is just right for hot coffee. The cakes are nice but the portion is a bit small. You can buy beans and make their coffee at home. It’s a very memorable cafe.
View on GoogleStopped by this coffee shop for the first time and had an amazing experience. What really stood out was getting to see direct fire roasting in action — something I’ve never seen before! It was fascinating to watch and really added to the whole atmosphere. The coffee itself was excellent, I tried seasonal bean “Taste of early summer” <初夏味>The staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, making the experience even better. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleI came here with my sister and it was soo cozy!! The workers were so sweet! The owners roasted their own coffee beans which was pretty awesome! There wasn't an English menu but with my knowledge of katakana sort of helped haha! But the owner was so kind to help me out! Definitely recommend it! Especially their glass cups and the mini little jug/cup of milk is the cutest!!! 😭💕
View on GoogleThe worst café experience I’ve ever had. First of all, the coffee was shockingly ordinary for the price — with so many better cafés around, this one is absolutely not worth it. The space itself is tiny, maybe 5–7 tables total. It got crowded very quickly, and several customers left right after coming in because there was nowhere to sit. But the real problem was the staff. While we stayed for less than an hour, the young female staff member and the long-haired barista kept staring at our table with extremely unpleasant expressions. They were whispering, pointing at us with their chains, and clearly talking behind our backs. When I looked back at them directly, they suddenly stopped and avoided eye contact — but the young staff member couldn’t even hide her expression fast enough. It was honestly disgusting. If this is supposed to represent “Japanese service,” then this café is a disgrace. Never coming back, and definitely not recommending it to anyone.
View on GoogleTraditional Kissaten - old school Japan Coffee Culture. Tsuru reminds me of my time in Japan in the 90s - before espresso drinks and Starbucks. Gleaming dark wood tables, hand printed menus, porcelain cups and quiet welcoming staff. You probably want to speak a little Japanese to feel like you've gone back in time. A nostalgic heart...
