We got food poisoning. The smell of the place is really concerning.

Although I ordered a large portion, I was charged the regular-portion price at checkout. When I checked, it turned out my order hadn't been passed through correctly. I'd been looking forward to it, so I felt disappointed right from the start. Also, the チリカルボナーラ barely had any of the creaminess you'd expect from carbonara and was like plain tomato-sauce pasta. The taste seemed off on my previous visit too, and it was the same this time, giving me the impression that the cooking throughout the restaurant is quite inconsistent. I come here because I like 五右衛門, so this was very disappointing. Before, the moment I took a bite, I'd think, 'So delicious!' But that feeling was completely absent too, which is disappointing.

The food is good. First, when they didn't even have a menu ready, I was already thinking, huh? Maybe they were understaffed, but the floor staff were constantly running around, so I couldn't relax (after 20:00 on Saturday). Someone in the kitchen who looked like an elderly lady was also loudly giving feedback that didn't need to be said in front of customers. The man who was called the manager also gave loud feedback after returning to the kitchen, saying something along the lines of 'don't seat too many customers,' which made me worry about the male floor staff member's mental wellbeing and left me feeling uncomfortable. The smell and such didn't really bother me, but little flies were flying around, so I wondered how that was acceptable for a restaurant?? I won't go unless I really feel like eating 五右衛門 in 吉祥寺

I ordered carbonara, but it mostly tasted like the cooking water—it was just far too bland. Even though it looked just like the menu. I had no choice but to ask for salt and pepper to eat it. Honestly, it was the worst carbonara I've ever had. Later I found similar posts in other people's Google Map reviews, and it made sense. It's disappointing because the other pasta dishes were good. It was pretty awful One staff member had a bad attitude from the moment I walked in. His expression and attitude clearly showed he had no motivation. Other people have written about this in reviews too, and it's probably the same staff member. That staff member came to take our order. The table next to us pointed out that they'd ordered number 50 but received number 52. We'd asked for sharing plates, but he forgot them. At a table further inside, I don't know what he'd done, but a customer was scolding him, and a superior came out to apologize too. The same staff member handled checkout, but started preparing the card terminal without asking how I'd like to pay or anything (he finally asked after I glared at him). He handed me the slip without saying anything (when I didn't take it and glared at him, he finally said, 'Here's your slip'). The fact that they employ a staff member like that makes me unable to trust this restaurant.
