This restaurant belongs to the Higashi-Koganei Taishoken group, the original tsukemen. There seem to be various branches, including Kazuo Yamagishi's Higashi-Ikebukuro Taishoken and the Eifuku-style Taishoken, but I'm not very knowledgeable, so I'll simply review my visit here. I feel that Musashimurayama Taishoken carries on the spirit of the Higashi-Ikebukuro Taishoken style. Of course I like ramen, but I came specifically for mori soba = tsukemen. I visited at lunchtime on a holiday. It was busy, but despite the many seats, turnover seemed quick. The food arrived just a few minutes after I sat down. A hearty, oversized portion. The slightly strong dipping broth combines seafood and animal-based stocks for a rich flavor, but is well balanced and not overly intense. The noodles are thoroughly chilled in water. One slurp fills your mouth with happiness. Even with a large portion, the noodles went down effortlessly and tasted delicious to the end. I even felt like I wanted more. The staff were polite and seemed attentive and considerate, leaving a very good impression. The menu also seems to include an original version close to what Taishoken served back in the day. There are plenty of side dishes too, so I thought I'd come back for another exploration soon. Thank you for the meal.
View on Google#MusashimurayamaTaishoken@Kamikitadai Special chuka soba ¥1150 My first visit to this large Taishoken on Shin-Ome Kaido. The restaurant looks like it occupies a former Chinese restaurant, but the spacious parking lot makes the location convenient. The special chuka soba has luxurious toppings, including extra finely shredded green onion and menma, plus a seasoned egg❗️ A well-balanced broth with the fragrant aroma of dried ingredients such as fish flakes and dried sardines, animal-stock richness, and just the right amount of kaeshi seasoning. The noodles are slightly slender medium-thick straight noodles, smooth and chewy, with a generous portion❗️
View on GoogleA Higashi-Ikebukuro-style Taishoken in Musashimurayama, with a welcome parking lot. I visited before noon on a weekday with no wait. As a ramen person, I ordered chuka soba with 1 extra slice of chashu. Like other locations, the standard chuka soba portion is 300g🙌 A classic broth with a strong fish-flake aroma. A reassuring flavor. The smooth, firm, medium-thick straight noodles are characteristic of Taishoken, and both their taste and how they go down are pure Taishoken👍 The chashu was on the dry side, but the little bit of fat attached was richly flavored and meltingly soft. If it's that good, I'd like them to make more use of the fat. I enjoyed wrapping noodles in the precious 1 sheet of nori, and the classic naruto was cute too. So I was thoroughly satisfied. Thank you for the meal🙏 With ample parking and plenty of seats, it seems easy to drop by again✌️
View on GoogleFirst visit🚙 Medium chashu mori soba. The noodles seemed to lack firmness? Overcooked? That was my impression. Some people ordered them firm, so that seems like a good idea. The broth is sweet with a little acidity, and light for tsukemen. The chashu is loin, with a mix of dry and juicy pieces. The spacious parking lot is a plus.
View on GoogleHello, nice to meet you. Today I felt like having tsukemen and happened to pass this place along the road. It may be a classic choice, but for people who love tsukemen, Taishoken is an irresistible tsukemen shop, so I stopped in and ate there. Among the many options, this was a Taishoken I would personally highly recommend. Perhaps this location is very popular, because it's a large restaurant. Even though it was well past lunchtime, just before 2, it was still quite lively. And as for the all-important broth, it's unmistakably Taishoken's flavor. I think this broth is exactly what people seek out when they go to Taishoken. Since it's along Shin-Ome Kaido, the restaurant should be easy to find. Please visit and try it at least once. It was gooood!
