I wish I could try Katsudon but what I had was already good enough. Everyone seemed to complain about the noodles but as a foreigner, it was good enough... Also, the workers are very friendly! I will definitely come here often
View on GoogleOne of the good udon noddles that i have eaten in the area.
View on GoogleUntil recently, there was a place here called 「ピノキオ」 with delicious café dishes, including omurice. Then it apparently closed, and an udon shop resembling 丸亀製麺 moved in. What is this? That was my first impression. It is semi-self-service: first order udon from the kitchen staff, receive your Sanuki-style udon, place a flat plate on your tray, choose tempura, inari sushi, and so on, then pay. Exactly the same style as 丸亀製麺. So how does it taste? Yes, this is good. 丸亀製麺's quality has plummeted in recent years, and I stopped going when it became like paying for tempura a middle schooler made for Mother's Day. This place far surpasses even the quality 丸亀製麺 had when it was still good. Lightly seasoned yet gentle broth, and substantial tempura wrapped in crisp batter. This seems to be a chain from the Kansai area, and I really hope it spreads everywhere. Payment is possible by cash, credit card, or barcode. There are no steps, so people using a single walking stick can enjoy eating here too. Just bear in mind that the semi-self-service system requires carrying a tray. The parking lot is spacious.
View on GoogleI came around 11:30 on a weekday. Since it was before 12, there were only 3〜4 cars in the parking lot and a few customers inside. It was my first visit, and I did not really understand the ordering system, so I decided to look at the menu panel on the wall first. I chose spicy curry udon and kama torimeshi (small), while my companion chose kitsune udon. After getting trays and telling the staff our orders, we received our food right away. Continuing to the left, we found various fried items lined up. I chose egg tempura, while my companion chose chikuwa tempura and karaage, then we went to pay. The system was almost the same as other udon chains, so everything went smoothly. The interior was clean and casual, with an approachable atmosphere. I felt it was convenient for families, solo diners, and groups alike. The spicy curry udon was aromatic and distinctly hot, and as someone who likes spicy food, I really enjoyed it. The rich, savory curry clung well to the noodles, with a depth of flavor that kept it enjoyable to the last bite. However, the heat may be a little intense for people who do not like spicy food. I thought it would be even better if the spice level could be adjusted. The kama torimeshi was delicious, with the savory chicken flavor thoroughly absorbed into the rice, and the tender chicken paired well with the rice's texture. I chose the small size, but it was just right as an individual portion, satisfying alongside the udon, and a good match for the spicy curry udon. It came with pickles, but I personally felt they were unnecessary. I would have liked a little more chicken. The menu panel only listed the medium size price (250円), and I learned the small size price (180円) from the receipt. There may also be a large size. The egg tempura had a crispy fried coating and a soft-boiled egg inside with a wonderfully runny texture. With the spicy curry udon, the egg's richness and the batter's crunch worked well together. I recommend it as a delicious, easy-to-enjoy tempura option. When I asked my companion about the kitsune udon, they said it had a gentle Kansai-style flavor, light but with clear umami. The noodles had the characteristic firmness of Sanuki udon and stayed enjoyable throughout. However, they found the fried tofu a little too sweet and would have liked the dashi flavor to be slightly stronger. They said the chikuwa tempura had a crispy, fragrant coating, while the chikuwa inside was springy with savory fish flavor, and paired well with the udon broth. They felt the batter was a little thick and oily, and would have preferred a lighter finish. The karaage was juicy and tender, crispy outside and moist inside. They said the seasoning felt a little strong. Overall, I was satisfied with the firm noodles, their excellent pairing with the broth, and the ample topping selection. The atmosphere was pleasant too, and I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleIt was quite delicious. The light Kansai-style dashi was great! The menu and rice dishes are extensive, with oyakodon, katsudon, and all sorts of choices. The freshly fried tempura is delicious and substantial too. Personally, I found the gobo tempura especially tasty with the udon! I appreciated the friendly, polite service as well. If I had to ask for one thing, I would like them to open earlier in the morning. I would love to have their udon for breakfast〜. I stopped by again another day. The katsudon had a wonderful dashi flavor and perfectly balanced seasoning, and was incredibly delicious! The mentaiko and kaeshi in the mentai bukkake udon also paired perfectly, a flavor I had never experienced before. This udon shop is addictive lol
