One of only a few museums that details wartime activities in and around the area. It is small with maybe six small display cases and 10-12 signboards covering various subjects. Free entry. Free parking. Photography is prohibited.
View on GoogleThis museum is free. It brings together materials focused on the history of the war, centered on Musashimurayama City⭐ It's small as museums go, but it has war-related documents and exhibits, and it felt dense (it seems it would take days to really study the materials seriously) ⭐Camera photography is prohibited inside the museum⭐ (a shame, but it can't be helped) The parking lot fits 3 cars, and the bicycle parking area fits around 5 bikes. I'm grateful to the city hall for creating a facility like this (so the materials will be preserved for future generations)
View on GoogleI learned for the first time that Musashimurayama was affected by the war this much." This facility is an annex of the Musashimurayama History and Folk Museum, with exhibits focused on the war. It's on the small side inside, and 30 minutes is enough to take your time looking around. You can learn things you never knew, such as belongings of people who were sent to war and the extent of the damage in Musashimurayama during World War II. Honestly, I was surprised that a place I know had been hit by air raids during the war and that there had been casualties. That's because I'd assumed air raids had nothing to do with the area I casually pass through every day. The Great Tokyo Air Raid had felt somehow like someone else's business, but I was able to learn how great its impact was.
View on GoogleTucked away quietly in a residential area. It's small but packed with highlights. Unfortunately, no photography inside.
