I ordered the original serving. When I asked for a large portion of takuan, the staff told me, “It's available as a topping.” Personally, this makes it easier to order…｡ It was delicious as always.

I think I'd been eating here for more than 10 years. I visited again on 26/06/07 after a long time. I ordered the new abura sutadon with 1.5 times the rice and a mini chilled tantanmen. The minced meat on the tantanmen smelled rotten. I wondered if I should have pointed it out on the spot, but there seemed little point in telling a part-timer who was probably just working without being held responsible for anything, and I didn't want to create unnecessary friction, so I just left the minced meat. I understand that running a hearty restaurant whose selling point is generous portions must be tough amid the recent price increases, but honestly, they've really hit rock bottom. Utterly disappointing. Goodbye.

I tried the Mizuho branch of “Densetsu no Sutadonya” for the first time. After entering and wondering what I should do first, I spotted the touchscreen ticket machine on the right. I selected takeout and wanted to buy something like the signature “Tonkotsu Shoyu × Juicy? Karubi Don”, but the machine wouldn't accept the new 1000円 notes, so I had a staff member exchange mine for an old 1000円 note and tried again. Again, for some reason, I couldn't get to the item I wanted and ended up with something different, but Oh well! No need to make a fuss, this will do. I took it straight home, and it was tasty, though a little strongly seasoned. It would've been just right in the middle of summer. That's what I thought, but next time I definitely want to try their signature item.

The sutadon is delicious I visited Sutadon again after a long time. I used to think of it as a place for big eaters, with huge, hearty portions, but of course they can't survive on that alone, so now they also have smaller bowls So I tried taking out a shio sutadon in the half-full size.

The usual hearty workers' meal. My stomach was set on sutadon today, and since I already knew there was a branch here, I went in! Honestly, the service is rather more impersonal than at other branches, but the food is more strongly seasoned, which I like! There are lots of young staff members, so it feels like the place could become really good if they just improved the service. As others have written, it definitely fills you up. Now this is sutadon! Personally, I prefer sutadon to ramen! Everyone, give it a try!
