Crispy yet moist and delicious at the same time. The tonkatsu was good but the ebi was great! I highly recommend and will be back next time I'm in Mitaka.
View on GoogleGreat dinner! Everything was oishi especially the ebi. Very friendly owners!
View on GoogleBest pork cutlet(tonkatsu) ever!!!
View on GoogleIt's a short walk from the south exit of Mitaka Station. Head toward Mitaka Sangyo Plaza as a landmark, and the restaurant is directly opposite. Apparently it's a long-established restaurant founded 60 years ago. There are counter and table seats inside, and because they're old-fashioned tables, even a table for 4 is as cramped as one for 2. Completely nonsmoking. Cash only. Fried shrimp and pork fillet cutlet (1750円), including tax. The fried shrimp were reasonably large, but the coating was thick and felt like padding. The fillet cutlet was also rather thin, maybe? There was only a little tartar sauce too,, The miso soup was lukewarm as well. As for value, perhaps it's partly because I ordered the most expensive menu item, but it wasn't very good. If there were free rice or cabbage refills, that would be something, but the taste was ordinary. It felt a little expensive. I was the only customer, so the atmosphere felt very awkward.
View on GoogleWent in around 13 on Saturday. The interior was surprisingly spacious, a calm space with classical music playing. Ordered the pork loin cutlet. The golden ratio of meat to fat stimulates the taste buds. The coating is well drained of oil, with an irresistible crunch. I can't stop scooping up the white rice. The rice is soft, and the aroma of newly harvested rice wafts through my nose. I pause with pickles and miso soup. Simple and delicious. They make the cutlet's savory flavor stand out even more. Eating so eagerly, I quickly run out of rice. I make up for it with cabbage, then finish by savoring the cutlet's meat juices directly. A high-quality dining experience that's hard to believe cost just 1100円.
