紡Tsumugi
A 5-minute walk from the South Exit of Mitaka Station on the JR Chuo Line. Standing on a quiet street one block west of Chuo-dori, the creative cuisine restaurant "紡(つむぎ)" is a warm place that values the connections between people. With the idea of "weaving people together", the Mitaka-born owner paid attention to every detail, starting with the interior, and has worked to create a restaurant that builds good relationships with local customers. The food is creative Japanese cuisine using seasonal seafood and carefully selected ingredients, with thoughtful seasoning blends and preparation. You can enjoy each dish, which brings out the natural flavors of the ingredients while bringing them together with a Japanese touch. There is also a wide selection of drinks that pair with the food, such as Japanese sake and wine handpicked by the owner.…

This was our first restaurant during our trip to Japan and it was an amazing introduction into izakaya and Japanese cuisine in general. Everything was so delicious and the restaurant had such a nice vibe and felt so cozy. Definitely recommended!

View on GoogleA 5-minute walk from the South Exit of Mitaka Station, "紡(つむぎ)" is a stylish creative Japanese restaurant on a back street. I went there to reunite with a friend after 3 months 🚶♂️➡️✨. The main seating is at the counter, which has a live feel since you can watch the cooking. Their thoughtfulness in serving the dishes neatly divided into "1 plate per person" from the start made me really happy, and we could focus on our conversation 👏. Every dish was elaborate, from the "assorted appetizers" with a quail egg with a soft-cooked yolk to the "homemade smoked potato salad" accented with iburigakko, all superb 🤤. Among them, it was my first time trying the "scallop and kani miso namero (980円)", and its intense richness and umami had me unable to stop drinking sake ❤️. 【A minor concern】 Whenever we ordered a drink, their procedure was to measure it with a "measuring cup" before serving. I appreciate the accuracy, but watching it right in front of me gave a somewhat cold, businesslike impression, and personally the only slight letdown was that it felt like it took away from the "charm" of savoring the brand of the drink 😅🍶. That said, both the food and the hospitality were wonderful, and it's a great place I can wholeheartedly recommend for dates or drinks with good conversation 🙏✨!
View on GoogleAround 13:30 on a weekday, I asked a gentleman at a nearby facility which lunch he'd recommend?! and went here. The 1500円 lunch lets you choose from 3 options: sashimi, hasami-age, and cabbage rolls, and I ordered the hasami-age. The kitchen is close to the customer counter, so you can watch the cooking while you wait. It also came with dessert and a demi coffee ☕ at the end, so I was satisfied. The customers were mostly elderly gentlemen and ladies from the neighborhood (who seemed like regulars) dining alone, so it was easy to go in by myself. Payment is cash only, so be careful!
View on GoogleI went a little after 1 o'clock and there were 2, 3 groups waiting, but I got in within 15 minutes. It's a long, narrow place with 2 tables and 6.7 counter seats. The atmosphere was really nice and the food was served without much wait. The small side dishes were tasty too, I couldn't stop eating! The squid in the kaisendon was especially rich, easy to eat, and delicious! It's a bit of a walk from the station, so I could spend a relaxed time. Thank you for the meal! Lunch was ¥1400. Very satisfied. I'm curious about dinner too, so I'd like to go
