Nice place if you enjoy cold udon
View on GoogleA Musashino udon shop you can enjoy in the Tokyo suburbs close to the 23 wards. Brownish in color. Flat noodles where you can fully taste the aroma of wheat. The chilled udon is so long you can't reach the end. It's hard to dip it nicely into the little cup of dipping sauce. And rather than chewy, it's hard! So hard it seems to be declaring on its own, 'this is Musashino udon.' Udon you chew rather than slurp. On my first visit I ordered a large "mori udon," but my jaw got tired halfway through. The volume is big to begin with, so the regular size seems fine. On my second visit I got the half-and-half size katsudon set. The katsudon has a sweet-savory seasoning. For me, it was a little too sweet. An elderly lady sat next to me. "I've been coming here since I was a child" "The udon here is delicious, isn't it~" A lady who seems to have been coming for over 70 years. What she was eating was curry udon. Next time, I'll try that. Compared with udon from various regions, everyone will have their own preferences in udon. Among them, 鷹 serves udon well suited to experiencing and truly getting a feel for Musashino udon. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleMusashino udon, with thick, filling noodles. It was summer and there were lots of chilled dishes, but the inside of the shop was cool, so I enjoyed a hot dish too. The katsudon looked tasty as well, but I didn't think I could finish it, so I gave up. The parking lot in front of the shop might be tough to park in with a large car. I think it's better to use the parking lot in the back.
View on GoogleThe udon at 手打ちうどん鷹 is Musashino udon representative of Musashino. It's firm and chewy, the noodles are very long, and it's delicious. Besides udon there are many other menu items, with table seats and tatami seating, so I think it's a place where families, couples, or solo diners can all eat comfortably.
View on GoogleVisited at lunchtime on a holiday. Went in right at opening, and customers kept arriving one after another afterward. I got the recommended nikujiru udon with tempura, and it was delicious. The udon was chewy and distinctive, but delicious. The portion is fairly large, but totally manageable. There's parking, counter seats, and tatami seating, so people of all generations can use it. I want to go again.
