Delicious Japanese food; very polite and helpful staff. I'd like the portions to be somehow bigger, though.

Introducing the 900円 yakiniku set meal at 御食事処さんえい, a diner located far from the station. There's a wide selection of rice bowls, set meals, and individual dishes, and I ordered my favorite, the yakiniku set. When it arrived, I was shocked by the quantity! A heaping large bowl of rice and miso soup in a large bowl. A huge amount of thickly sliced meat. Plus a huge amount of shredded cabbage. Everything was plentiful, and I worried whether I could finish it. As usual, I started with vegetables first, but that alone was quite a lot. Since I was starting to feel full, I switched to the meat partway through. Large, thick slices of meat. What is the seasoning?? It's not soy sauce. A slight tang in the aftertaste… maybe miso blended with something… The meat is probably beef. Or, judging by the toughness, is it pork?? The distinctive sauce honestly has my head spinning. The large, thick-cut meat is quite tough. The 1st and 2nd slices go down fine, but once it cools a little, it's very tough. The miso soup has various vegetables and a home-cooked flavor. As I moved into the second half, the meat's toughness really started wearing out my jaw. I realized my own jaw has gotten weaker. It's a yakiniku set meal where I'd appreciate the meat being sliced a little thinner. ♯三鷹グルメ ♯三鷹ランチ ♯三鷹食堂 ♯焼肉定食 ♯さんえい

It's along Yamanaka-dori in Mitaka City, around the intersection with Murasakibashi-dori. Nearby are a Mazda dealership and a large Secom building. The leftmost of 3 restaurants in a row; it was after noon on a weekday, but quiet. According to the menu posted on the window, vegetable stir-fry set meals start at 650円. An unbelievable price these days. Fried dishes such as fried aji seemed to be the specialty, so I entered intending to order the assorted set meal for 850円. I was seated at the counter. Then the yakiniku set the person next to me was eating looked delicious. It was 900円, so I decided on that. The restaurant is run by an elderly couple. A small place with 3 tables for 4 and 6 counter seats. Perhaps there are lots of regulars, as they see customers off with “Thanks as always!” The set meal has generous amounts of meat, rice, and miso soup. I think the yakiniku has a miso sauce, but it's an original flavor unlike anywhere else. Combined with the meat's fat, it goes well with rice. I sprinkled on ichimi chili and kept eating, but it hardly seemed to diminish. There's plenty of vegetables on the side too, with a nostalgic-tasting dressing. The miso soup is packed with ingredients such as daikon and leafy greens, and has a strong dashi flavor. The bonito flakes used for the dashi are left in, a home-cooking-style method. Somehow I finished it. Payment is cash only. Apparently small change is appreciated.

This place mainly serves fried food, but it's overfried and tough. It's not particularly delicious, but the portions are generous and prices low, so it gets fairly busy at lunch. The sauce on the meatball set meal is too strong and salty. The portions are as large as ever, so it might be good for hungry guys. Yakiniku set meal The seasoning is miso-based and strong. The meat is thick, and the amount of food is impressive. A better choice than the fried dishes. 【2025/02/25】From 12:00, alone. Sukiyaki rice bowl (750円), tax included Is this beef?? I wonder what cut—it feels like there are 4.5 pieces of touuugh meat simmered in a sweet-savory sauce ahead of time. The rice portion is generous, but I wouldn't say it's delicious.... As for value, prices across the menu had gone up by 50円–100円. If it were delicious, that wouldn't be a problem, but 『さんえい』……

Parking is at 176, diagonally across the intersection. A reasonably priced place with generous portions. The nostalgic style of the atmosphere and everything else is relaxing. The miso soup packed with vegetables is especially delicious! Everything is old-style, so the karaage might feel lacking to people used to the flavor of convenience stores and family restaurants loaded with artificial seasoning. Each piece of karaage is about fist-sized, really huge. It's a thoughtful touch that every dish comes with salad. Presumably they're considering the nutritional balance of people working nearby. It's been a long time since I saw cucumber served with yellowish mayonnaise. It's nice that 1 parking space is provided. (Never park in the 2 spaces belonging to 高社楼 next door. Apparently they're strict about it.)
