I arrived at Saint Denis Cafe around 11 on a weekday and got in for the first seating at 12. The second seating starts at 13, and visits are time-limited, so timing is important. It's also helpful that you can check how busy it is through Instagram Stories. ■The pork steak (honey mustard sauce) was more generous than expected and very satisfying. Even a smaller portion of rice felt just right. ■The chicken breast and mushroom fricassee had moist, tender meat, and the white sauce paired perfectly with the mushrooms; this was filling too. And then dessert ■ミルフィーユ・ナポレオン ■Rum and butter crepe. The crepe in particular was so delicious that it might be the best I've ever had; I'd go back just for that alone. It looked like you could get it as takeaway from outside. A popular cafe with thoroughly satisfying lunch and desserts. Even with a queue, I'd like to go again with the girls. Thank you for the meal♪
View on GoogleAfter we arrived at the restaurant, they checked our name and party size We were told, “Please be back 5 minutes before opening,” and apparently being late means your booking is treated as canceled, so take care. The food portions were really generous! The pork steak was thick but tender and easy to eat. The mille-feuille was also bigger than expected, and I loved the crisp, crunchy pastry texture💓 Both my heart and stomach were full. I was happy that I could buy baked sweets to take away too PayPay and credit cards were accepted as well◎
View on Google【Update】Visited in April 26. I visited during café menu service hours. Lately it seems to have become very crowded at mealtimes, so I hadn’t been going much, but I visited when I had a weekday off. I had ミルフィーユ・ナポレオン and フラン・サンドニ with coffee. I was glad to finally get the ナポレオン I’d wanted to try. It is substantial, but the pastry has a really crisp texture and is very delicious. The flan is rich too, and I recommend it. Ordering one drink is required, but I was completely satisfied, including with the portion sizes. 【Update】Visited in October 25. Visited for dinner. This was my first visit since the cooking chef changed, and the overall impression, including the menu, had been refreshed. I had a warm octopus and potato salad and the pasta of the day, with マロンのサン・トノーレ and ガトー・オ・キャロット for dessert. The style of the food had changed too, but it was delicious. (Personally, I preferred it before) 【Update】Visited in May 25. I visited for dinner. I had 牛ももローストのタルタルステーキ and 鶏むね肉のコルドンブルー. チキンケバブ was sold out, so I went with my usual favorites. You sometimes see tartare elsewhere, but this is a dish you can only enjoy here. The cordon bleu is substantial too, but the meat is tender and, together with the cheese, goes down easily. 【Update】Visited in April 25. I visited the café and had crepes and baked sweets. The crepes were シナモンシュガー, バターシュガー, and 紅茶(アールグレイ) with less whipped cream. Perhaps because of the weather, the crepe batter wasn’t as crisp as usual, but of course it was delicious. I also had a financier and coffee. I took home ガトーナンテ, クロッカン, and マカロンダミアン too. The baked sweets are distinctive as well, different from what you get at a specialist baked-sweets shop. A new discovery. 【Update】Visited in September 24. They said café service would end because the chef was leaving, so I thought I should go while I could and visited when dinner service began (they later announced that café service would continue, but a different chef would take over, so naturally the flavors and menu would change too; either way, the opportunity to enjoy the current food would end once next year arrived) I had キャロットラペ, chilled corn soup, 牛肩ロースのステック•フリット, and a crepe (レモンシュガー). Of course everything was delicious and satisfying. In the chilled soup, you could really taste the corn itself (its sweetness). Whatever main dish you order, the portion is substantial. Visited in March 24. A café adjoining the crepe shop LA CREPERIE in Mitaka. The crepes have always been popular, but this café, which I’ve visited many times since it opened, has also been growing more and more popular, making it harder to casually drop in. Despite the casual café feel, the food and sweets are seriously well made, and everything here is delicious. The generous portions are a plus too. I couldn’t get in for lunch, so I visited when dinner service started. I chose things I don’t usually eat. 自家製ピリ辛ソーセージのピぺラード, 牛もも肉ローストのタルタルステーキ, キノコのペペロンチーノ, and タルトタタン for dessert. Everything was a hit again this time. The tartare steak has a raw-meat feel, but it is properly roasted and isn’t raw, so there’s no worry. The Tarte Tatin is dependable too. The menu changes a little every time I visit, which always leaves me wondering what to eat. (The sweets too)
View on GoogleI first visited at lunchtime last month, and this time lunch was fully booked, so I gave up on that. I visited during café hours. It has a cute exterior and is a small place that can only fit around 7 groups. The food, such as ポークステーキ, and desserts like crepes and mille crepes are all very delicious, making this one of my favorite places. Since it’s popular, all the staff look extremely busy. Especially if you come with 3 or more people, you can easily be kept waiting around 1 hour, and even inside you wait quite a while for a staff member to come take your order, so I recommend it to people with time to spare.
View on GoogleA small café that shares a kitchen with ラ・クレープリー and always has a queue. The portions are substantial, and many menu items change seasonally, so what’s available is part of the day’s surprise. The menu is text only, but you can check photos and details on Instagram. During lunch service, which runs until 14:00, the place is often fully booked and stops accepting customers before opening. Notices that bookings are full sometimes appear on X. Service seems to be handled by 1 or 2 people who also cook, and there aren’t many seats, so visit with plenty of time to spare. I think only around 2 tables could accommodate 3 or more people During café hours, one drink per person is required, and only desserts are served. The sweets are substantial and fairly sweet too, but the only unsweetened drinks are coffee and tea, and the tea is flavored tea only, so keep that in mind if you don’t like it. The takeaway baked sweets in the display case change daily, with around 5〜6 varieties, and can also be eaten inside. Some may sell out after 2 o’clock. I often think it would be nice if, when they have the capacity, you could at least have sandwiches during café hours (if I could ask for more, I’d like to take them away)
