I regularly have errands nearby and stop in when I do The service is hellishly bad, unfriendly, and for some reason they’re angry The ramen has an unmistakably nostalgic feel, yet plenty of umami and tastes delicious The mini rice bowls are cheap too, with a set costing just over 1000円 That fills you up The service really bothers me, but apart from that, I think it’s a very good restaurant

It seems to be a long-established soba restaurant. When I went in at 12, there were quite a few customers. I ordered the lunch katsudon set for 1.000円. The katsudon had plenty of ingredients and was very delicious. The soba was just the right amount for me and was also very enjoyable. With fewer soba restaurants around, I hope they keep going for a long time. The prices are low and offer good value.

I visited for lunch on a weekday. I ordered mori soba for 450円 and a mini katsudon for 450円. The portions were just right. The katsudon was a little strongly seasoned but tasty. The soba felt standard. The service seemed a little harsh if they didn’t know you, but it didn’t seem that way with regulars.

9th visit on a Saturday: katsudon set 1,000円 ------------------------ 8th lunch! Ramen 500円 and mini tendon 400円 ------------------------ 7th visit: katsudon set 1,000円 ------------------------- 6th visit also ramen 500円 and mini tendon 600円 ------------------------ 5th visit Today, ramen and mini tendon 3rd visit I need to find somewhere else to eat... But there’s nowhere nearby, so do I have no choice but to come here??? Mini katsudon 450円➕ramen 500円 ------------------------- 2nd visit! I thought this last time too, but the old hag who takes orders has such an irritating attitude. Curry udon --------------------------- After seeing comments saying the ramen was delicious, I visited for the first time. I’d known there was a soba restaurant here for a while, but... after reading lots of comments saying the ramen was cheap and delicious,... I came. It really is delicious. 500円 for this is cheap. It tastes like the Showa era, but it’s delicious. The soup is still piping hot after 5 minutes, so be careful. I added a mini katsudon for 450円, and that was delicious too. The older male regulars dining alone each ordered udon. The curry udon looked tasty too^_^

Along 東八道路, next to 三鷹第一小, facing the 新川交番前 intersection. It’s beside the pedestrian overpass at a six-way junction. Although I pass it almost every week, I hadn’t managed to go in. This time I visited on foot before noon on Sunday. It seems to be run by an elderly couple. There are 7 tables of various sizes and 2 tatami tables, apparently seating a maximum of 28. The menu prices probably haven’t changed for several years, making them incredible bargains amid these rising prices. Although it’s a soba restaurant, I ordered the chuka soba for 500円, reputed to be delicious, and the exceptionally good-value mini katsudon for 450円. The only condiment on the table was ichimi chili powder. After a while, they brought a tray with ramen, mini katsudon, pickles, and pepper. The ramen had chicken-stock shoyu broth. Light and very delicious. The noodles were probably thin, high-hydration noodles, slightly soft and well matched to the soup. Toppings were boiled komatsuna, naruto, menma, scallions, nori, and chashu. I appreciated having vegetables other than scallions. The chashu was one small slice, but fatty and substantial in flavor. The mini katsudon had plenty of rice for something called mini. The cutlet was so thin it was almost paper-thin, but it was cooked with a sweet sauce and egg; a soba restaurant’s katsudon is certainly not to be underestimated. I finished it all with lightly pickled cucumber and takuan. At 950円 for all this, I almost felt guilty. Since I hadn’t eaten soba despite being at a soba restaurant, I’d like to try it next time. Cash only. Space for 1 car in front of the restaurant. Update The noren was still out around 19:00, so I visited. When I opened the sliding door, there were no customers, and they seemed to be resting, planning to close. Sorry, but I ended up making them do another round of work. I ordered the katsudon set for 1000円 that I hadn’t tried last time. They asked if I wanted cold soba, but I said hot. A regular-sized katsudon and mini soba arrived. The tonkatsu was thin but simmered in a fairly strong sauce and finished with egg. Why is a soba restaurant’s katsudon so delicious? The soba noodles were extremely thin. The broth was dark but not strongly flavored, a Kanto-style dashi. Since the katsudon was strongly seasoned, this was just right.
