After fully enjoying gyoza at "Gyoza no Harupin", I thought, since I'm here, I might as well visit the neighboring "Ganso Harupin" too! So, I visited. This is a small shop with only a counter and two tables for two people (which can be combined for four). The drink selection is small. An elderly woman (the older sister) wraps the gyoza one by one. It's a cozy, home-style restaurant. I had the xiaolongbao and pan-fried gyoza featured on the shop's sign. Their gyoza also has chewy wrappers. Maybe slightly thinner than the neighboring shop's. Slightly spicy. The xiaolongbao are packed with soup and deeply flavorful. It was my second stop, so I'm sad I couldn't eat much. Thank you for the meal♪
View on GoogleAfter visiting Gyoza no Harupin, I went to their sister shop next door to buy some takeout! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ "Ganso Harupin" in Mitaka is a famous authentic Chinese gyoza restaurant founded in 1982. Run by a chef from Harbin, China, it features juicy gyoza with handmade wrappers from scratch! It has a sister relationship with the adjacent "Gyoza no Harupin", and following a history of splitting, they still operate under separate management and maintain their own unique flavors! Sunday 1:20 PM There was no queue and only one group inside. The interior is quite small, with just a counter and a two-person table in the back. I ordered 4 portions of chives gyoza for takeout. You can buy them raw! I looked at the menu and they had many kinds of gyoza here too! I took them home, kept them as frozen gyoza, and pan-fried them to eat on another day! Unlike Gyoza no Harupin, the filling has a unique seasoning with spices like star anise, making it authentic Chinese gyoza! If anything, it's geared towards adults! Gyoza that goes well with drinks. I was surprised that even as sister shops, the flavors are different! I think having individuality is great! Thank you for the meal! Thank you for reading until the end! "Likes", "follows", and "saves" are huge encouragements and make me very happy! Thank you! (╹◡╹)♡
View on GoogleI've been coming here for about 35 years. These heartwarming, delicious gyoza and xiaolongbao haven't changed since those days—no garlic is used, and they feature the aroma of star anise and other spices. The handmade wrappers are chewy and delicious.
View on GooglePretty terrible. Ordered ramen and gyoza. The gyoza was of decent tastiness. The ramen soup was average, but the noodles were completely like instant noodles. The customer service was pretty terrible, perhaps due to a cultural difference; they don't bring water, chopsticks, or wet oshibori towels unless you ask. Cash only. The shop is cramped, the air conditioning doesn't work, kitchen heat gets trapped inside, and summer is definitely hell. Had a rather low-quality experience. I feel the neighboring shop, which split off as a sister restaurant using the same noren curtain, is a more proper establishment.
